For me AD is a done story and Cs should not waste more time with him.
But if some fellow fans think otherwise, at least they should use their brains.
Going against his father on the internet, is not a smart reaction.
Just my two cents.

Is this happening? Because that's exactly what Klutch wanted out of this.

Maybe, but are you hearing the part where he can potentially steer AD from Boston to NY in doing so?

Might not even be an idle threat if he wants to go play with KD, plus the top 5 pick/Knox or whatever third star they can get by trading those guys.

Sure, but if it comes down to playing with AD on a first-class organization like Boston or a dumpster fire franchise like the Knicks, I would think Kyrie would pick the Celtics, especially considering he is already here.

Pelicans get the final say, not Anthony Davis.

Mook on Kyrie.

https://clutchpoints.com/celtics-news-marcus-morris-says-kyrie-irving-is-polarizing/
“He’s a guy that’s very polarizing in the NBA and the world so everything he says, even if it’s not really that serious, it’s going to be taken out of proportion,” said Morris following the Celtics’ 113-99 win over the New York Knicks on Friday night, according to The Associated Press. “But like I said, he still comes in, he’s a professional. We all love him, we all want him here.”

Still a pretty high chance IMO this team makes it to the the finals, at least ECFs. No matter what anyone says, they will put the crap aside to win games in the end as professionals.

Oh, we are definitely going to the finals.

And even Kyrie tried to stress a million times yesterday the goal this season is still to try to win a championship in Boston. People don't quote that, but thats still the goal of this team.
And we are slowly climbing back up in standings.

Unfortunately, yes. I don't like watching fans with Cs related avatars, calling his dad hypocrite among other things.
Let fans of other teams make this judgement(that AD ain't loyal to NO so his dad should not be talking about loyalty).
We are better than this.

Two things need to happen right now:

- NO needs to hold on to AD until the end of the season
- Then we pray for the Knicks not to win the lottery

Hopefully we can make a good run for the rest of the season, get to the finals and be competitive, with Jaylen and Jayson looking good and Hayward giving signs of life.

At the end of the season we ask Kyrie what he thinks of the situation and whether or not he stays if we get AD. If he says he stays, we call the Pelicans and arrange a deal centered around Tatum and picks for after the 1st of July when Kyrie resigns. If Kyrie doesn't give any guarantees I just don't think we can go after AD. We'd have to give up on that, even if it means letting him go to NY or LA.

In that case, keep Tatum, maybe try and deal picks plus Jaylen for an All Star level PG. Is Lillard unrealistic? Maybe we could find a way to do a sign and trade with the Hornets for Kemba?

Anyways, we'd still have Tatum, Smart and Jaylen, with hopefully Hayward being closer to the level he was at before the injury, and a few very good assets. Not a terrible position to be in.

That sounds depressing. I trust no one more than Kyrie in a clutch game. I think hes staying.

Kyrie could also stay even if we don't get AD. It could be enough if we make a good run this season with all the guys I mentioned looking good going forward. But let's face it, it's unrealistic. At this point it looks like the only chance to keep Kyrie is if we get AD. Or if somehow KD decides to stay in GS and Kyrie doesn't want to go to NY by himself.

His most recent comments were that the plan from the preseason is still in effect and Boston is still his front runner.

Maybe he regrets commiting so early...but, he said flat out the plan is still the plan and Boston is head of the race. While.being pissed his name is dragged in.

Everything else is out of context. Way more stuff suggesting he stays imo

There is NO evidence that Kyrie is leaning toward leaving, or anything like that. other than:

-- The Knicks clearly think they have a good chance to recruit SOMEBODY.
-- AD's camp, who should have an reasonable read based on the AD/Kyrie relationship, claim to think Kyrie would leave even if AD came.

The first point ... well, it's the Knicks.
The second point just makes me think AD's camp believes lying is a useful part of public negotiations.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

I fear this may be coming next, to be honest. The plus side would be getting something back for Kyrie as opposed to a **** sandwich if he left as a FA.

This is dumb. I just want to see Boston play with no distractions and see where the season takes us. I'm already tired of all the BS. Dont trade anyone ar this point. Just play it out. That's the only way we can recruit Kyrie anyways by seeing how good we can be.

What would they give up? I guess their #1 pick? And give Pels a big trade exception? Not bad, I guess.

Amazing for AD Sr. to criticize us for trading IT to LeBron's team while AD Jr. demands a trade to LeBron's team.

I think Kyrie hinges on AD and vice versa. In a way we're lucky we can't trade for AD until Kyrie's made a decision. Seems like we can really get our ducks in a row - resign Kyrie, trade for AD, lose Rozier/Tatum/Brown/picks; lose Kyrie, keep Rozier / Tatum/Brown/ picks.

Just my two cents.

What fans do on the internet changes nothing, and every other fanbase would be trashing him if they were in the same situation. His dad was asking for this sort of reaction whether he wanted it or not. Talking about loyalty as the father of a player who just demanded a trade mid-season is hilarious.

I think NO doesnt want to appease what Anthony Davis wants (A trade to LA). This helps the Celtics because the more they think he doesn't want to come to the C's the more likely they will trade him here out of spite.

Chris Mannix on Kyrie Irving: “They talk to him all the time. And as recently as Thursday, I was told that this week they talked to Kyrie and they still feel very comfortable that he wants to be in Boston and that this is where he’s going to be long-term.”

Yah but Mannix is always wrong so now I’m even more unsettled.

Return to Boston Celtics
