Those arent really reasons on why he should be playing over someone who is unquestionably better than him, though. Edwards needs to show some of that potential before he’s given a bigger role.

You may not think it's a good reason, but it's absolutely a reason. If we were a rebuilding team and our priorities were skewed more towards player development then it would apply. In our current state as dark horse contenders I think it makes sense to to play Wanamaker, but it's not unreasonable to think Edwards could be the more useful player by playoff time if he's given sufficient minutes to develop.

I personally think it's best to make guys earn their minutes, but there are many assumptions underpinning that belief.

With the way Dwight Howard has been playing this year he would be perfect for us in the middle.

Wendell Carter is an excellent player the Celtics could use possibly trading Grant Williams, Poirier, Ojeleye and a draft pick. This would provide an opportunity for Langford to play and give the Celtics more size against Philadelphia and other big teams.

Wannamaker for a 2040 highly protected 2nd round pick. Or maybe a washing machine.

I like Carter and think he’d help but I think they could get a good asset back for him if they were inclined to move him. Unless we’re talking the Grizzly pick?

No. He’s just shown no reason he should be playing above Wanamaker at this time.

Sure he has and not by last night. Over his college career you saw a player that if he continues to develop could be a legit scoring threat in the NBA we saw it in summer league and the pre season. We see it in the games now sometimes the ball just isn't going in, maybe not a starting PG but a top 8 guy. Brad Wannamaker has never and never will be that guy. He is your 3rd PG so if you have a guy who has more talent and skills and needs mins to adjust to the NBA you give him that opportunity. If he can't get it done then you go get someone else but his success or failure doesn't really change the dynamic with Wannamaker he should be a 10 mpg guy.

Chicago isn't going to trade him and much less for that garbage, carter and white are their only young players who look good.

Anybody think we might sign Horford when he gets bought out? Another veteran big would be nice.

What is up with the Wanamaker hate? He's been really, really solid this year.

Way better than Terry last year. I understand Waters is waiting, but let's give Brad at least until the deadline if he keeps playing like this. Plus, he's a vet, unlike Waters.

Willy Hernangómez (CHA) for Semi Ojeleye (BOS) might be a low key move that could help.

I personally would wait because I think Ainge can get a better player later on.

By the time they do buy him out he'll be like 40 years old and Timelord will be the DPOY. No real point in it unless we need a 3 late in the game I guess.

We saw him declining last year, and we all thought 4 years 80m was pushing it but along the lines we would pay to stay. 4 110m... Slow down while I book his flight. Just too much of an overpay for a player slowing down right before our eyes. I get it, the sixers had to do it to get him. They had to spend the money or lose it because of cap rules as well. If they offered what he was worth, 4 years 80m, he would have stayed with the Celtics. No other max fee agent or just under max, would sign with them. They were stuck overpaying for him even though he really wasn't a fit. I would have went more for a PG.

Fortunately, he’ll be available in about a month or two.

Any interest in jumping in on this Orlando trade thing? They're apparently looking for scoring. Isaac would/should be the target imo.

They likely want to trade gordon, he is playing bad and a terrible fit with isaac.

Brad Wanamaker's minutes are not wholly coming at Edwards' expense. I don't see Edwards' role as a PG. He's more of an off guard. Sure, he can bring the ball up, but I don't see him running the offense as a PG does. It seems to me that there will be minutes for Edwards, and for Wanamaker too. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see that Wanamaker's minutes go up.
