Or maybe this exactly what the new owner is privately hoping for….

Let’s say Boston goes deep into the Finals and win/lose. There would be no chance to break up the team. He will have a path now to retooling things and maybe that starts with unloading Brown. Boston flaming out gives him all the excuses he needs to start to blow things up a little.

Why is it that JB gotta go? :dontknow:

Tatum and Brown don’t compliment the other at all. Don’t let the Finals runs or championship run fool you. They can beat many teams but against contenders? It starts to really show. I’m not even saying Brown is the bigger problem but tracing him might be more palatable for the fanbase, seeing that Tatum sells all the jerseys. But yeah, something has to give. Neither are great passers or decision makers and it becomes more obvious against top defenses.

nothing else to say.

It's over.

People here underestimate the Knicks and the pick up of KAT and Bridges. Those were huge additions. I wanted KAT a few years ago for us.

Besides all that, Brown is playing with a bad knee and Jrue with a bad hamstring. Not to mention that Jrue and Al were not as good this season compared to last.

Boston's luck ran out.

I don't think it's luck related. They chose to keep playing brown at the end of the year, despite him having a banged up knee.

Jrue was given some rest throughout the year, but certainly at his age, they could have expanded the rotation and gave him more.

That is not, but decisions made by our coach. That at this time is looking like it backfired.

Last season's title was a combination of being good and lucky. All the teams we faced except for the Mavs had a key player or two out. Mavs had no business being in the Finals. You have to be lucky and good to win a title, even if it means having all your key players healthy. That's good fortune to me. We had no chance of repeating with Brown playing on 1 knee and Jrue's game taking a dive this season and then hurting his hamstring in round 1.

That feeling will go away. Just like winning the championship last season. That was great but that feeling lasted about a week or two for me.

I'm pissed and I'm not.

I always have to remind myself I have no influence on whether they win or lose and they all get paid millions to put the ball in the hoop. Maybe it's a little more in depth than putting a ball in the hoop but compared to us peasants they got it made.

Call it a coping mechanism or whatever but it helps I guess

It’s also called growing up. Let the young fans have anyuerisms and heart attacks about losing a game. :D

That’s a weakkkkk take man. Celts beat themselves, Knicks haven’t done anything special. Win Sat and game on, still hope they let Joe go. He’s the leader of this group and adds absolutely sky nothing! Too bad Van Gundy didn’t stick around he could have helped this clown

Lol it’s just the facts my guy. There is no “game on” other than on the planet delusia. Fans lie, numbers don’t.

Celtics were like a 98% chance of winning both games 1 and 2 halfway through the third, according to stats.

Not saying we’re necessarily a shoe in to win the next game or two but just saying all that matters is what the players actually do.

Not what some computer model spits out.

Well, if you mean during the playoffs, then yes, last season boston got very lucky.

The Knicks gameplan. Hang close until the celtics gagged and make shots in the end.

6 points after the 8:40 mark lmao. It was 84-68 which means they got outscored 23-6 are you **** me?

84-68 with 8:40 left. There’s not excuse to not finish that game . All you have to do is make some shots.

The scariest thing is unless we get a solid enough lead in game 3 I don’t think we’re any chance of winning.

We look completely petrified in the clutch. If it’s close down the stretch it’s impossible for me to envision them making the right plays.

This team may have won a lot of games over the last 4 years and has a lot of talent. But they’re so far off the Pierce KG Ray Celtics in terms of late game execution.

Heck even that 2018 team felt good in the clutch.

The thing that drives me insane about Mazzulla is how terrible he is at out of bounds plays. The dunk from Tatum tonight was one of the first times I can ever remember him drawing up a good look.

Stevens and Doc used to be magicians at getting us good looks out of time outs.

If the Cs can get this back to Boston at 2-2, it will be a different series.

The alternative is being negative and thinking of all the bad things that's happening is just not good for the health.

A 7% win rate for teams in this situation is not “premature,” it’s actually simply factual to say this series is over.

I have more to lose by following your logic because some of us have actually seen teams come back down 0-2.

In fact, Wade and Shaq were down 0-2 in the 2006 Finals and they ended up winning 4 straight games.

Took 7 3s in those last 6 minutes of the game and missed them all. Knicks were chipping and making their shots. This team has been a historically 3 point chucking team this year. Seriously they’re allergic to the 2 point shot.

Get real. Let’s see them win a game first. If this team goes away quietly they need to do something drastic in the off-season. These losers have no heart and toughness. Look at the warriors with that championship pedigree even older yet competing tough out there.

Nah if we go out to the Knicks moves gotta be made. I’m on that train Fsho.

Celtics 25 out of 100 in the first two games from 3. Lol. Even the good looks they miss. Tells you they’re tight and choking. That’s awful 25 out of 100.

Same story again. When up they settle for 3s and miss them and keep attempting them.

Was morbidly curious and checked our shot chart for this game. What an abomination:

To me this shot summed up the brain dead nature of Tatum, Mazzulla and this team.

He has a wide open **** lane. You’re not Steph Curry, you’ve been shooting like **** for two games.

At minimum Brunson is going to be forced to grab you, likely though you can go straight by for a dunk.

Soon as I saw this miss I knew we’d probably lose.

Nooo that’s on Tatum!!!! That’s all he knows how to do.

Yup that’s on Tatum. Drive that **** and dunk it for a sure two. Worse, you lob it to horf for an easy dunk. Tatum is nothing but a dumb chucker. That pic shows it all.

Guess we were right about it not looking great when we were up. I swear, every time we took a solid lead, we started tossing anything up it just doing silly stuff. We never got into an offensive set it seemed, we just held the ball to start moving with 7 seconds left!

Except they lost the first two games on the road. How many teams have come back in the semifinals after dropping the first two games at home?

I am now getting bombarded with text messages about boston and almost everyone says the same thing. Boston is the dumbest team in basketball.

Those people are not emotionally vested with this team. They are just freely speaking their minds..

And yes, the players have to take some responsibility for that, but make no mistake. The head coach is the director of the team. It is he who instills basketball, I q or not..

If our head coach is the limited one, it is kind of hard to expect. Much better from the players.

I feel like people are going overboard on Tatum. He is our superstar and will be probably for the next 10 years at least! Let everybody else go overboard on him, not Celtics fans! I’m not talking about criticism, he deserves that amongst others, I think everybody on here knows what’s too far. Why can’t it just be basketball? Why does it have to be the worst things you can get away with on here? I’m not even sure if some of it is within rules, but I know it’s not right!
