Congrats Dr. Irie! I always appreciated your view on the C's and basketball in general (even if I disagreed). And I have to say your posts were always very well articulated, which I think explains the doctorate haha, but I will be sad to see you go.

Good luck and I hope you pop in from time to time when you get a chance. Congratulations again on such an amazing accomplishment!

After the 7th snow storm I swear I am going to move away from MA someday.

Then I think of the amazing six weeks of weather we get every year and I quickly change my mind.

Now I can see why you were always so "pessimistic" about those Kevin Love rumors. Would've sucked to know you were missing out on watching a potentially championship caliber team. With this heap of a roster in place you can put your mind at ease--- we're not going anywhere till you get back. :)

Be safe. Stay interesting. Good luck.

Haha I just finalized all this yesterday! There isn't a direct correlation there :D

howdy Boston forums.

Philly native here, I just spend 4 days in Boston for vacation, (my first time in the city) Stayed in a hotel slash apartment type place in the Back Bay.

I was totally impressed, loved your city. Maybe it was partly "vacation syndrome" where it seems everything is elevated and the weather was perfect which helped, but I couldn't believe how nice the city was. Loved the historical buildings around Fanueil Hall, Newbury St. I pretty much walked the entire city from West Newton to the Bay. Went to a game at Fenway, the Red Sox experience was a blast.

Overall I thought the city compares very similarly to Philadelphia. Two great historical cities. I think Boston comes off a little more upscale and fancy, struck me as a bit of an East Coast San Francisco. Philly is a little more gritty and run down in areas. I think Philly does a little better in the restaurant/bar scene, but both cities are great in that sense.

I imagine in the bitter winter it's not as much fun lol.

Nice excuse, bandwagoner, taking off when times get tough, as transparent a charade as we'll see.... Olynyk and co. should just about be rounding into form upon your return so you won't be missing much, good luck and stay safe

Well... that was quick. I got sent back from Senegal by the US. I don't get it. I was there to help, as I said weeks ago. Now everyone is freaking out about ebola which has been going on for decades and they are sending away personnel from the region.

Again, Africa is **** (what's new?), because a handful of people elsewhere get ill so they pull everyone out of the areas that need help to assist the few.

people will feel more comfortable around you in a couple weeks when you don't show any symptoms in the meantime. Can't blame them for that, although you are absolutely right about the mass indifference to African suffering.

It's because Donald Sterling types run our media, and restrict media spotlight on human suffering that doesn't serve the interests of the powers that be.

I haven't had any issues with people feeling uncomfortable with me?

I don't get the Sterling to the media thing. Are you saying racists control international aid? I'm not even an American citizen.

Don't mind NL41. He's a bit naive/ignorant about these issues. Great poster overall though. Solid bball knowledge
