The immediate concern with Nurkic is that Denver will almost certainly tie him to one of the other players they are trying to move, e.g. Faried or Chandler. To get Nurkic a team will be asked to eat one of the other contracts.

Just trade Zeller and Rozier on the 15th for Bogut. Maintain max cap space for this summer.

If Ainge has pictures of Mark Cuban sleeping with someone other than Cuban's wife, that might work.

Well... it's not like the Mavs have much leverage here either way. When your guy is an expiring 32-year-old injury-prone bench player who's gone on record saying he's leaving Dallas after his contract expires, you're not exactly going to bring in a haul of picks and young prospects for him.

Nurkic is only 22 years old. Very raw on offense, but already a beast on defense (ask Marc Gasol)
We really need this kind of player.

You could probably get a 1st from a top 10 team for Olynyk. Cleveland, probably.
Kelly is good. He's come up to par defensively, he can shoot - he's at the level of old Mike Dunleavy, Jr. Big, can handle a little, spaces the floor, knows how to stay out of the way.
He just seems afraid to try being good. Like Jeff Green, takes his advantage on offense when he knows he has it. But sometimes Olynyk is handling the ball in the open court and you can see his brain go "Wait, big man, not supposed to do this." And he's scared of hurting the team with bad shots so he misses chances to help it. I've never actually seen him get his shot blocked, because he never forces anything. But he passes up two-thirds and three-quarters open shots, and if he gets into the middle of the floor he stops and passes out. He might be weak, he might get his shot stuffed, but I'd like to see one game where he gets a green light to f*ck up and just tries to score every time he's a quarter open, or has a little daylight.

And yeah Nurkic's floor is Chicago Asik - offensively limited backup. He's strong, throws his weight around, just still developing and his impulses/habits could go good or bad. Pull up his advanced defensive stats as a rookie.
Nurkic/Dwight and Butler would be an interesting swerve.

Btw if you want to talk about the limits of net stats like +/-, esp. when singling out Okafor for his bad defense - Anthony Davis was a -6 tonight.

That's not that big of a deal, Chandler is pretty good.

Rozier is a big overpay for half a season of Bogut, who misses half his games to begin with.
Dude is also averaging 3ppg and 27% FTs.

After they deal Millsap, Danny is going to pull a fast one on Atlanta at 2:58 PM of the deadline and trade Rozier, Zeller and Amir, along with the 2018 Celts pick and 2019 Grizzlies pick for Dwight.

It's the Nuggets man. They asked for Avery and BKN pick for Gallo

Good assessment:

Don't think anyone takes raw +/- seriously. It does mean a lot in the context of the team. Pels have a -0.2 NetRtg with him on and -10.0 with him off. Meanwhile Philly is a -15.2 with Jah on and -2.4 with him off. One game isn't good enough, but it normalizes over handfuls of games and those results are blatant. It's why APMs are useful as well.
That 4-12 range of the East and 8-12 range of the West might lead some teams like Los Angeles, Orlando and Sacramento to think they are buyers rather than sellers. Find it cool that ATL is zagging, but have won 6 in a row to zoom to 4th in the meantime. Might want to move Millsap sooner rather than later to get the track on the tank if that is their plan. Who has final say out of Wilcox and Bud?

He and Rondo are currently engaged in a furious battle for the worst offensive stat line of all time. Bogut is currently leading in the innovative "fewer FGs than TOs/game" metric.
Rondo is putting up a really tough fight but Bogut's combo of shockingly low volume and efficiency, combined with astronomical turnover rate, will be tough to beat.
Guess these guys missed the memo about offensive explosions league-wide.
Verdict: Zeller + clips and cavs seconds for Bogut = we'll think about it.

Haven't scrolled through all the pages on this thread or the other, but has there been any discussion of calling the Pelicans regarding Anthony Davis?
He's living and playing in obscurity down there...and always will. Even that dude's not going to get that organization above the playoff Mendoza line.

Yeah, off and on for a couple of years we have been bringing AD up. The problem here is that the Pelies have no incentive to move him anytime soon due to the fact that he is locked into a longterm contract and is only 23 years old. NOP can afford to spend time building around him....but they need to speed up that process and start making better moves. They have decent bench pieces, and I like the Hield pick. Hield will develop into a nice shooting/scoring compliment to Davis. Where Demps has failed is in his free agent moves. Asik was a terrible move. Solomon Hill? Common! The list goes on. They have wasted $$ on questionable players which could ultimately lead to Davis wanting out.....but Davis isn't at that point yet.
Plus, hypothetically to acquire Davis via trade....it would cost Danny ALOT. basically every asset. Brown, Smart, Zizic, Both BKS plus additional picks and salary filler.
My offer would be the following:
Amir, Jonas, Brown, Smart, Zizic both BKS plus the Memphis pick & Clippers pick for Anthony Davis & EMOORE.
Thomas/Bradley/Crowder/Davis/Horford with Rozier/Moore/Green/Olynyk/Zeller off the bench. Weak bench but Danny could address that in the offseason.

People need to stop fixating on an expiring, injury prone, and offensively limited Bogut. He's like the new Asik around here.

Agree about Bogut. He injuried, slow and lost in offense.
