Wanamaker can play. Lefty slasher. He beat the Celtics almost singlehandedly in an exhibition game a few years ago. The question is whether or not Boston can come up with a more attractive package than FCS Barcelona, which can offer far more perks than an NBA team plus a much shorter season plus the attractiveness of Barcelona as a place to live.

I know nothing about Wanamaker so I can't honestly have an opinion on this.

That being said, I do LOVE the fact that we are clearly putting more emphasis on trolling the Euro leagues for bench depth like Theis/Larkin and presumably draft-and-stash candidates like Yabusele. Hitting on either of those types of additions or ideally both will be HUGE in the coming years where we are going to be multiple max guys and constantly juggling the cap.

I liked what he brought to the table this past year, but you're definitely right. He constantly had minor injuries or illnesses. Not a player that you can rely on.

Hmmm, that surprised me, we didn't sign him until a month later. I think Larkin was a done deal before I even heard of it.

This does look like a good deal to replace Larkin. Larkin came back from Europe have an opportunity at a nice NBA payday so he will almost certainly leave the Celtics and get one, and deserve it.

The whole notion that Smart is shooting to much is an inaccurate perception. Last two seasons and the playoffs this year he is at 9.5 FGs per game in about 30 minutes. Much lower rate than All of our rotation guys, with the exception of Baynes.

It isn't inaccurate at all, he is marcus smart, not a random player, almost 10 shots per game is absurd for one of the worst shooters in the league. Even a player like tony allen that was rather better and more efficient than smart using his offensive skills never took more than 8-8.5 shots per game, except in 1 playoffs run. The same can be said about roberson. He should be as good as beverly as a shooter at least to shoot 9-10 shots per game, and he isn't.

You have to shoot the shots that you're supposed to take. Brad will chew you out if you don't. Sure he may take 2-3 "heat checks" that he shouldn't a game. So does Terry Rozier. The only difference is that Terry hits more of those. Marcus would be a fool to go into every game worrying about what his shooting % is and whether or not that should impact his decisions in the flow of a game. And anyone expecting that of ANY Brad Stevens-coached player would be a fool too.

He can't shoot and is slow when moving laterally. I'd take my chances with Keenan Evans if they can make some trades and acquire a 2nd round pick.

Larkin may, in fact, be looking for a much deserved payday, and more playing time, and involvement.
