He destroyed Zaza last year.... 8-)
Good assessment:

I had a dream Kanter wasn't one of the ten worst defensive centers in the league. Make it happen Brad.

Are there any GMs good at it? Denver picked up Nurkic and Jokic, Morey drafted Capela and Montrezl.. There are fewer good centers in any draft than guards and wings.. On the FA market, Baynes was a good get - Dedmon has been out of our price range..

To coach him.. Pachulia is 53 years old.. but when he was a little younger, he was slow but still great defensively..

Dude will absolutely have a Brook Lopez esque jump in threes.

Finally: A plausible way to include Kanter and "jump" in the same sentence.

Denver also traded away the pick that became Gobert.

Page after page on how Kantar can’t play defense.

How about talk about the things that he can do? He gives us rebounding and low post scoring. Something we didn’t have last year.

And while Horford was good defensively, he chose to leave. Kantar is a better low post scorer and a much better rebounder. And can possibly be a better fit than Horford was on this team.

This team and the fanbase need a little more positive spin on things, especially coming off such an underachieving, unwatchable season.

I’m excited about watching Boston this year. I’m excited about watching SL too.

I'm excited about watching Boston and Summer League every year, but my excitement certainly seems more pronounced this year following the bad taste last season left behind.

Kanter at 5M/yr is a bargain. We should all be glad we got him. I agree he gives us a low post presence we didn’t have last year. The pick n pop with horford, is a low percentage shot, and AL being way out in the 3pt line, gives us no chance to ORebs. Kanter posting up can free up the perimeter as well. This team should be fun to watch. I want them to play hard, have fun and no personal agendas please.

Pick-and-pop w/ Horford is low % shot? 1.12 points per possession as a roll man, including pops beyond the arc and midrange.
Kanter's postups with Portland is 1.10. It was 0.88 while in New York.

And Al wasn't a slouch either as a post man. 0.99 PPP not to mention a better passer from the post.

I get Kanter is a cheaper option, will bring us rebounding that we never had, and might fill in admirably, but I think fanbase is already underestimating losing Horford, on both ends. We will feel that esp when we face the Sixers. The guy is one of the most intelligent bigs in the game.

Yup the pick n pop at the top of the key for a 3, or a shot at the perimeter is a low percentage shot compared to posting up. Its a good thing he makes it consistently, but if he misses, no chance for a rebound. Id rather have a big man that goes hard underneath the basket. I agree he’s one of the best big man we’ve had, but it is what it is. He went to our rival, and im glad were not paying him the money. 3 years ago would have been different.

The pick and pop might be a low percentage shot, but Horford was better at it than Kanter was at posting up..

I'm really just bracing myself, trying to guess how close we're going to fall to the days when our interior D was the likes of Tyler Zeller and Jared Sullinger.

Dunno where to get the data to separate rolling to the rim vs. popping for jumpers but nba.com has the rollman/popman (1.07) having higher points per possession than postups on average (0.93). Popping involves the three. That alone raises overall efficiency. Horford was above average at all three play types last season.

Stevens would have to reinvent his offense. More PnRs. Probably less handoffs and bigs popping less for jumpers. Wouldn't surprise me if there was more wing-wing/guard screening (Hayward screening for Kemba/Tatum etc.). We'll also see more of our bigs hanging around that baseline area for easy dump-offs/lobs.

Im glad you agreed, because its really a low percentage shot. That’s all im saying. Not saying horford is not good at it. He’s moved on to the sixers, we should too!

That would be something. Lopez went from taking 14 one year to 387 the next. I don't think I need Enes Kanter taking 5 three a game (unless he's a 36+% shooter from there), but being able to take 1.5-2 a game at 33-34% would be a net-positive. Any lower than that and he should just use it as a once every few games thing from the corner.
