Just read that the knicks might trade back if Wiseman or ball don't drop to 8. I don't see either dropping that far. The question is, are the knicks gonna knick and take 14, 26 and 30 for 8.

I mean, if that rumour is legit, a team drafting ahead of them who doesn't like Wiseman should arrange to make the knicks trade up. They likely still get their man and profit from the knicks as well

What about Edwards, 14, 30, and 47 for 8. Celtics still draft two rookie at 8 and 26. Vassell/Okongwu and... Knicks get 3 picks and edwards for dropping 6 spots. Id give them Kanter or Porier of course too but I doubt theyd be interested.

Yeah, anyone who decides to make a rap song about how they were robbed in the dunk contest, then double down and spend money to make a video for the song........thanks, but no thanks. Lol

Ditto. One of Hali/Okongwu/Hayes/Vassell would still be there.
Even if Kanter/Poirier stay, that leaves you with 2 spots for tax MLE, vet min, 47, Waters/Wanamaker/Fall/Green, etc.

"We don't want them and they definitely aren't good nor average, but other people would" may be why people think DA drops the ball in that area every time he doesn't make trades. The trades I always see suggested are never trades "YOU" would from the other side but get mad at DA for not somehow magically making it happen! It's always our castoffs while we keep every worthwhile player. Yeah, I just don't think it works that way but I'll be here being unrealistic with the rest of you when DA doesn't make a trade during the draft, before the season and/or at the deadline. I'm not going go name players but come on now!

Karalis said something similar on LO Celtics with Smitty today. Something to the effect of both sides being ready to move on. Would guess Ainge told him he was going to trade him or he’d be relegated to a bit role and Enes would prefer to pick his own scenario.

I originally thought there was no way he'd opt out. But then he rode the pine in the playoffs post-Philly. Was a great teammate about it, but you know he thought from this stints in the later rounds that he was making an impact and should have played more.

If he can get a multi-year MLE elsewhere and have a chance to play, that's a no-brainer.

I feel like its time for one of our board deep throats to point us in the right direction.

Yup.

It's been a long time since we had some insider bombs on here, they were amazing pieces of info to have.

It’s too early for insider bombs. Wait a few weeks

I want some more 5 team trades that work on the checker. They show true mathematical talent. MIT is waiting for the next Mike Zarren.

Moves to end up with:

Kemba, Smart, Brown, Tatum, Favors
#2, Langford, THJ*, GWill, RWill
Edwards, 26, 30, tax MLE
Poirier or vet min/Waters/Semi/47

-----
BOS: #2, THJ, Wright for Hayward, #14, Theis
GSW: Theis, #14, #18, #31 for #2, TPE
DAL: Hayward for THJ, Wright, #18, #31

GSW adds Theis and splits up #2 to use in other trades with Wiggins or the rest of the TPE.
BOS gets #2 without Wiggins.
DAL standard reasons

Unfortunately, you can't 2020 offseason S&T with 2020 picks. You could use the players you select, but they'd be selected before you can do the S&T. But, sign & trade for Derrick Favors.

ATL: Wright, NOP '22 2nd
NOP: BOS '22 1st for S&T Favors, '22 2nd
BOS: Favors for '21 first.

Say Favors starts around $15M? You'd be just over the tax (~$2M) with 14 players + MLE.

* I also like flipping 26, 30 & THJ for Fournier - even saves a little money so we could conceivably duck the tax. Esp if you send Poirier/$ in that deal as well and maybe use full MLE.

Couple problems:
Is that enough for GSW?
What if we can't S&T for anybody. Would have non-tax MLE at least.

Challenge accepted.

Sign Anthony Davis for the Tax MLE. But this might slow down Timelord's development.

Doncic / Kawhi / Tatum / Giannis / Davis
Morant / Smart / Brown / Grant / Jackson
Langford / Green / Theis / Timelord

If Stevens still can't make this work, I'll drive him back to Indiana.

Pass. I'm not giving up on Edwards quite yet.

A new one, I think:

14, Poirier, Semi, *, cash for Joe Ingles.

Jazz are in a weird win now, but can't really win mode. They could use another piece to grow with Spider, but not sure if they would do this or not.

Ingles would fit our system very nicely - this should placate some of the Gallo fans I annoyed in the other thread. :)
We still pick up some swings/bigs at 26 & 30.

* We would need a tiny bit more salary. So either add Edwards/javonte, or send them to a 3rd team or send an opted-in Kanter back to them or POR. Etc, etc.
