Bro, we said that about Brad, too. Who would you hire? Let's get Jeff Hornacek in. Keep Joe as an assistant.

That’s not really fair to say. It probably was time for a change maybe and I think Udoka was the perfect fit for these guys but Steven’s entire tenure was spent battling LeBron with Isaiah Thomas, recovering from Hayward breaking his leg game 1, the Irving side show and having to start Daniel Theis in a conference finals.

Joe got a ready made roster he has no idea what to do with.

I like Stevens. Theis did fairly well for us. I think it's underrated how good he is on defense.
Good assessment:

Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

We may set a record for home losses in the playoffs. Inexcusable

I just have a feeling the players don’t respect Joe too much and are still bitter about Ime. Just a bunch but they aren’t playing hard on defense. Not even a little bit.

Idk what the record is but it just feels like homecourt means literally nothing with this team. Does anyone ever feel confident with this squad simply because they are playing at home? Every team knows they can come here and beat us. It's a joke.

If we play a game 7 at any point, us being at home will play no factor whatsoever in my prediction of that outcome. How we played up until that point and who we are playing will be the only thing that matters.

But the end result was a loss, as was the Atlanta loss where we relied on him too heavily on final possessions.

Smart is the least of our worries. He did fine this game. Tatum is what i’m worried. He doesn’t have a go to shot other than chuxking 3’s. When he goes to the basket, i don’t have confidence of him making the shot, even if it’s a wide open layup. He holds the ball too long, even in the double, like what happened when his pass was deflected. He anticipates/expects contact and a call when he drives, instead of just trying to make the shot, and let the refs do their job.

Yeah if Tatum keeps scoring 39 on 25 shots we gonna be back in the lottery pretty soon. He just doesn't know how to score.

It is not the talent. It is the heart and passion
They are not mad they lost
JT isn't mad and demands the ball in a place he can score (like Bird, Butler, even Harden in this game). He is a finesse player that crumbles under pressure (at least in the last two years). He should be mad as hell over the last play.
And he needs to stop dribbling and start plays on the 3 point line.
Look at Butler, KD, PP videos and be better in crunch time

Same goes for JB (who should work on his handling and decision making this summer)

How do you give a team with title aspirations to Joe Mazzulla? Absolutely laughable.

At the end of the Brad Stevens reign (as a coach) everyone was saying this team needed a tough coach. We got that with Udoka and it clearly worked. What did we decide to do? Go back to the soft coach approach.

Can't say I'm surprised at the outcome, this team has been playing down to the competition all season long.

shooting 73% at half to only be up by 3 was not good news..

and who the hell is milton? made some random 3s to prevent us from blowing it up every single time in the first half..

That was the recently acquired Melton.

Long-time Sixer Milton was glued to the bench.

I'll never forget how I felt last year when the celtics made the finals..... I was....pretty happy. I couldn't believe I was only, pretty happy.. I should have been thrilled, on cloud 9, partying and cheesing from ear to ear.

I was only pretty happy for two reasons. One, I thought we were gonna lose in the finals anyways. Also, the way they got there. I could tell we still hadn't learned anything... And I knew they would make the same sloppy or just flat out dumb mistakes again the next chance they got. This team never seems to get smarter. No matter how much experience they gain. It doesn't seem to matter. I get every team has blunders, but this team seems to have them far too often. Too often to win a championship anyways.

As far as I'm concerned, this is who they are... And to me, they are a very talented unlikable bunch. That is just my personal view on the team. They will probably win the next one because they will probably view it as a must win... But don't be fooled. The same mistakes they make all the time is right around the corner. It's always right around the corner with this group.

I don't mind losing. I've said this before. It's always how we lose. Can we lose while playing decent-good defense for at least most of the game? Can we lose with part of the reason not being because we slowed the game down to a crawl and started dribbling the clock out trying to not lose instead of trying to win? Can we lose without playing the same drop coverage for most of the game when it clearly isn't f**** working? Can we lose because we put the ball in our best player's hands because he demanded the ball with the game on the line, and he simply missed the shot? Can we lose without all the boneheaded turnovers? Can we lose without the reason being our team lacked a sense of urgency?

That last one is the real killer and why I dislike this team so much. They only play like they care sometimes. When they feel like it. I can put up with that in the regular season.... But in the playoffs?

Simply put, can we lose because the other team was just better and not because of a bunch of self-inflicted wounds? I'm probably asking too much. In fact, with this team, I know I am.

And his 4 turnovers. Smart had 6 and costly ones. This has to be on the coach to run plays for Brown. He was 8 -10, 3 -4 from 3 and perfect at the line. This should have definitely been a JB bring us home game but it wasn't.

Jaylen was really struggling to get open, and had trouble with the 4 turnovers. He was really good at hitting shots, but not so much at creating them.
But a good coach have to set some playes for his second best player. His last shot was a almost logo 3 out of nothing.

Worst thing is we could all see it. Come out slow and let the team stay in it. Get to the last 4mins of the game slightly ahead and slow the game down until the killer on the other team steals the win.

If Harden shredded us this badly, I can’t imagine the two man game with Embiid. The coach is clueless, but serious questions will have to be asked of this core after this series I fear.

They were up, playing pretty good, when the coach subbed in Smart and Horford and took out Rob and I think White. The rest is bad history. This was a bad bad loss. Opening the series at home with no Embiid shoulda be a win.

If defense was our biggest issue last night, then wtf was Timelord on limited minutes! The more I think about this loss, the more I start looking at Joe! JB slows it up with over a minute left and he had a path to the basket! We took our foot off the pedal again and defense was embarrassing. Nothing like them 2008 Boyssss! Wake up C’s

The good news is the window for a championship for this group is until 2025.

So Al, Brogs, White, Rob, Smart, and the Jays can win it all next year or 2025.

By 2026 a new window will start to open.
We don't know who will be the supporting cast of the Jays beyond 2025.

No doubt the Cs have the talent to win a chip this year, but their lack of maturity is making them lose games.

There's still hope because if the Cs win Game 2, it's back to square one for both teams.
