I'm glad this is a fact now even though it's 36 days till it can even happen and Kyrie himself hasn't said a thing.

He's absolutely gone. If you can't see that between what our own insider, reload, said about him not bleeding green and the smoke around him hanging out with LeBron or his desire to go to NY. There's one common variable with each story. Boston isnt even mentioned once. Hes gone.

could be true, I'm just still having a hard time listening to you telling me this when last year before the playoffs you were on the GB telling others how trash the celtics are, and how the sixers/bucks/cavs/raptors are all going to kill us. Then we beat them all but lost in 7 to cavs. Soooo.......... there is that.

I'm like the ex girlfriend, i never forget that stuff. Hence my sig with stillwatertroll.

I mean **** him and his Loony Tunes shirt but I've lusted for years for this -- it's gonna be hard to sift through summer-camps-for-kids posts for that quick scan of which way the pundits say the winds are blowing at any given moment.

Wouldn't mind this myself to keep all the nonsense like the following out of this thread.... but no worries either way.

That said, here goes. I've settled on this package:

Tatum/Brown/Yabu/Williams/14/22.

No Memphis pick, we keep #20 and Smart. Nobody is beating that. Smart over Brown for fit and contract for the next 3 years.

Resign Morris, draft a Johnson (Keldon, Cameron) or some other 3&D wing
Sign Corey Joseph or similar backup point.

Kyrie/Smart/Hayward/AD/Baynes (token)
Joseph/Johnson/Semi/Morris/Horford
2nd round/vet min: another point, wing, big.

It's a pick the direction deal and the direction is compete NOW with a superstar and multiple all-stars surrounding him. Completely sucks if he leaves, but that's the risk.

Edge details:
If all parties are into it, I'd also S&T Rozier and take back E'Twaun. Then use the MLE on a big like RoLo, Ed Davis, etc instead of a PG. I may even try to keep 22 and give BOS 2020 instead, NOP might like to spread the picks out too.
I'd take Kyrie on whatever deal he wants in this scenario. 1+1, full 5 year max, whatever.

Never said trash but yeah definitely thought last years team was a fluke. I think most of us did. Especially when Kyrie went down. I can't find one person who predicted Rozier would become Mike Bibby. There is a difference between calling a team trash and saying theyll be lucky to get past the 2nd round. Fyi I believe I did have them beating the bucks too. So theres that...

I think that Hayward being back to Full form, would make a considerable difference.
As would Terry Rozier leaving, along with anyone else who has issues with their Role.

I've never doubted that Kyrie irving will Re-sign here.
I'll be shocked, if he doesn't.

Maybe. That's not my offer but I think I agree that overall we have the best package. Let's refresh the best from everyone we know is in this for sure (asset-wise purely) regardless:

My Cs offer:

Tatum
Brown
Smart
Williams
Baynes for salary
*******
Three picks, Sac, Clipps, 2022 Cs pick plus seconds, no Grizz pick

Clipps:

Gallo
Harrell
SGA
Shamet
Tyrone Wallace
*******
Both seconds, Portland's included
Both 2021 first, Philly's first included
Miami 2021 first
2022 first
Second rounder 2021, 2023 from Detroit

Knicks:

Robinson
Knox
#3
DSJ
*******
Both Mavs picks
Knicks picks unprotected 2021 2022

LAL:

Ball
Ingram (I think he's done and a low value asset at best due to the medical stuff but many don't agree, I'm in the minority)
Kuzma
Hart
Wagner
#4
*******
2020 top four protected
Swap rights 2021 2023
2022 top four protected

Nets:

Joe Harris
Dinwiddie
Levert
Jared Allen
Kurucs
*******
Three picks this year
2020 first top 4 protected
Phoenix and Toronto 2021 seconds

Raptors:

Lowry
Siakam
OG
Malcolm Miller
*******
2020 first round (unprotected?)
2021 swap rights (unprotected?)
2022 first round (unprotected?)
2022 swap rights (unprotected?)

Great idea on Ed Davis. We have six million for him regardless of other summer moves, right? I am sure NOLA would love for us/anyone to take back E'Twaun too. Solid call, man.

Will dig in more after this weekend and give you a better reply, but quick thoughts - I think you basically nailed the asset pool. I just don't think any team can afford to give them all up (not that you said that). And as you get further down the list you're into diminishing returns. I think the first 2 or 3 things decide it, and like how Jays & 14 stack up there.

Toronto could include Powell and Vanvleet as well - younger, cheaper than Lowry. Both having a nice week. Those 2, Siakam, OG and I think you're pretty close to salary then throw in rookie contract filler if needed. That's a pretty good package. Picks would be awful, though, if Kawhi & AD stay. But if NOP thinks AD is going to LA anyways, would be a great gamble.

ETA: Agree on Ingram too. LAL just has to hold him and hope, not gonna get value at all.

Bill Simmons, Jon Tjarks and KOC floated an interesting hypothetical trade on his podcast the other day: Tatum for Ben Simmons. Simmons and Tjarks liked it for both, KOC preferred Tatum to Simmons.

I could see this trade bearing out if Kyrie left, Butler re-signed and Harris left— Simmons and Butler are a bad fit, Tatum is a great fit with that resulting team and Embiid and Tatum are good friends. Conversely, Horford is the perfect big man to compliment Simmons skills and Smart, Brown and Hayward also seem like they could be strong fits as well.

Would you do it? I would— would be entertaining as hell to see the chaos that would devolve from this deal. A run-and-gun team built around Simmons would be fun as **** too.

Celtics want a point guard who can’t shoot then sign Rondo and keep Tatum

If Rondo was 6’10 and capable of playing elite defense, I’d agree
