I could talk myself into Kemba thriving off screens and Westbrook turning into a guard Draymond Green with a smaller scoring load, but I really fear we do this.

I don’t think Ainge wants Westbrook but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ainge got in the middle of a Hou/OKC/Bos three way trade and moving one of Hayward or Brown to nab Capela or Adams plus others.

Why the Rockets want Westbrook is beyond me. Ainge will be there for a three teamer.

Why would OKC want Hayward?? They're obviously hitting the youth button, which is why Westbrook is being dealt. The only advantage wd. be two years of Hayward over more years of Westbrook, but they can do much better than this.

Hayward would opt out next year and OKC would get draft picks

Would a really good capella make us a better team than a 60% hayward? Really don't like this.

Think I would rather gamble on Hayward returning to form rather than move him for Capela. Team is dangerously low on playmaking as is. Losing Horford really hurt in that aspect as well. Hayward, Kemba and Smart are really all they have for the moment

Yes. To boot we get about 4 years of a 17 mill per year contract with Capella. It's always advantageous to not overpay for very good professional NBA players in their prime.

Yup don’t understand that signing either. Should have gone after Stein, who is a legit 7’. While Theis is just 6’8. We needed size, and our young big guys aren’t ready to contribute.

Couldn't sign 2 $5mm guys without resigning Theis. Kanter was signed with an exception.

Stein signed for a slightly above the minimum.

Kanter a better player

Matt Burke believes that Miami will be in the forefront for Westbrook, but also states:
The Celtics still have a cache of young assets and draft picks to dangle, and it can’t entirely be ruled out that Ainge would actually look at pairing Walker and Westbrook together in the same backcourt. Ainge and head coach Brad Stevens are big small ball advocates and were fans of what Rockets GM Daryl Morey did in Houston with the pairing of James Harden and Chris Paul.

Isn't it identical to Walker's?? If you're going to have a pair, why not have an equal pair? I'm not saying I'm for this, but it's something in the air, and worth thinking about.

I have wondered for months if Hayward has maybe quietly asked for a trade if and when a decent opportunity might arise. I am sure it was mighty unpleasant last year to have the JB and TR and JT brats whining about him being the teacher's pet. Probably doesn't feel great about his teammates and might just think that playing on a Stevens-led team wasn't such a great idea for him after all.

They have four starters right now for the 2 and 3 wing spots. That means someone has to go to the bench and someone who isn't really cut out for it has to play the 4. Of course, having 6 centers on your roster isn't ideal either. Have they officially signed and can they now trade any of Enes, Vincent or Daniel? I wonder if Rob or even Tacko has drawn interest from someone. Personally I'd be okay with Langford going in a deal, as I'm not yet sold on him.

Semi could be the biggest winner of a Gordo-for-big trade, as it could free up some regular backup minutes for him.

It starts at 6m a year more with bigger raises. I think it tops out near to 45m.

is Presti still the GM over there? If so I bet he has already called Ainge and Ainge and the C’s are having internal discussions.
