Has it occurred to you yet that we usually have one, often two of Tatum, Brown, Kemba, and Hayward on the court at all times?

Just move one to the bench. Then the argument will be that the starters need help.

If celtics get someone they have to be an improvement over Wanamaker, Kanter, Grant Williams, Robert Williams, Langford or Semi. No one else is getting minutes in a playoff game, and really only Wanamaker and Kanter are guaranteed to get consistent minutes of this group. When the playoffs hit, every single possession should have one or two of Hayward/Kemba/Tatum out there if they are all healthy. Just need some role players who can d up and hit open shots. I'd have been down with Marv WIlliams. Moe Harkless would be amazing, dunno if he'd be bought out though.

I'll use my medical card to get Dion all the free gummies he wants, just to stay far away from this team.

Even if he doesn't play much for them, it's a net loss for us, or Miami, or hell even Philly - all teams that would've seen a boost from a stretch PF who you can trust with real playoff minutes.

Well, Marvin has been to the playoffs exactly once in the last 8 years. What makes him better than, say, Jeff Green?

He has a defensive rating of 110 and a substantially negative net rating. TS% of 59 is the best thing he's got going for him.

I dont get the live for Marvin either. I'd rather have Jeff Green.

So far not impressed much by buyouts. Waiters could be a offensive punch that could help you win a game in playoffs. But to take on his headache it isnt worth it

IT is who we need to add. I cannot believe the lack of love foe him here!

Ya he struggles on D at his size, and is a little gimpy but he is over 40% on 3s this year and his handle and passing are still fantastic, he's a lefty and can get to where he wants on the floor for 10-15mins a game! If he gets in trouble trying to create his own offense he will see and deliver the ball to the open man ....cmon we've seen him do that a million times! People here act like he can't play anymore or fill a SMALL needed role here for us. What's more, he's plenty capable of going off in any quarter, he is a STRONG closer and excellent FT shooter ....and can win a game or two for us in the POs if he really has it going.

For 10-15mins (eddie house mins) a night he can be what he was while he was here. Moreover, I truly believe that we would be his first choice! It would likely cost us Javonte, which I would really hate, but that is the question. Do we give up Javonte for some mecurial Offense off the bench?? For IT I say ya. The Garden would be absolutely electric every single time he stepped on the floor!!! And the team would feed off of this! IT is our man IF(big if) we do a buyout. I didn't think Clipps would just waive him but here we are ...do we give up Javonte???

Adding IT for a playoff run, I say yes...

If the Celtics will get someone in the buyout market I hope it is a big that can defend/rebound.

Any thoughts on Jonah Bolden? I really only saw him in summer league a few years ago. Haven't caught him since. Measurables are nice, but no idea if he can play.

Look at the players that the Celtics were rumored to be interested in at the trade deadline. The players that I saw rumored were John Collins, Christin Woods and Davis Bertans. All of those players are three point shooting power forwards. That should give everyone an indication of what the Celtics are looking for in a buyout. I think Marvin Williams was the target that Danny Ainge was interested in acquiring.

I'd still go for Mo Harkless now that Marvin's taken.

From free agent market: What's Jon Leuer doing nowadays after recovering from his knee surgery? How about Tarik Black? Or we can sign Gordo's former BFF from the Jazz, human pogo stick Jeremy Evans. I'm just naming Mark Bartelstein clients here. Got to get to his good graces before Hayward extension time.

So how about overseas guys who might have NBA "out" clauses, starting with Jonas Jerebko (Russia) Kosta Koufos (Russia), Omri Casspi (Israel) Salah Mejri (Spain). I thin we can forget about Mirotic, who has a long-term deal in Barcelona.

I'm not interested in anyone from China. It's not the virus, it's that no one plays defense in that league and players get into bad habits.

Will Moe Harkless be bought out? I haven't heard that.

No official word whether he'll request a buyout. Might not happen since apparently it's his dream to play for that franchise (he's from Queens). But a Knicks beat writer Marc Berman reported Knicks would grant him a buyout if he so requested. He's yet to play in his first two games as a Knick.

The answer is that Marvin Williams can shoot and Jeff Green can't. Jeff Green has no above-average skill that you can leverage. At least Marvin Williams can shoot. I think all you want from a buyout guy is someone who can give you ten minutes in a playoff game and has a skill that makes a difference.

I also don't see Mo Harkless getting bought out. He's only 26, Knicks may want to retain him for next season. But yeah, if he gets bought out he's the best player on the market. One of my favorite defenders to watch. I'd take someone like him over some bozo like Bertans who would be unplayable defensively.

I don't see Marvin Williams as an upgrade over the new and improved Semi Ojeleye.

Mo Harkless is a career 32% 3pt shooter at 6'7" tall and averages 5.5ppg this year in 22mpg. None of that is good.

Its about NEED, fit and shoring up weakness where possible for a title run.

Weaknesses:
#1 Scoring droughts
#2a Defending Yanis to get past MIL
#2b Defending Embiid, maybe

Adding another big when DT EK even GW & hopefully Rw3 are playing so well makes 0 sense, unless that Big can shoot pass and create his own shot. No one like that is available right now. Besides, we are a Top5 D and never get killed on the glass!
We do not need to acquire some Defensive Specialist for Yanis because we already have this! Semi, and we still haven't seen much of RW3 taking on freak, is about as good as it gets league-wide!

WHAT WE NEED MOST IS A CLUTCH BENCH SCORER WITH PO EXPERIENCE! This guy can be a ball-handler wing or big, he has be able to shoot, create his own shot and PASS well!! He MUST score consistently for 10-20 mins per game. Lets see who's available and can fill these above needs ....IT is all I see, and with his experience playing in our coaches system the decision to bring him in is a no-brainer .....provided we can live with letting Javonte go.
