I have no idea their plans for him, but it should be interesting to finally see him play. If he makes the roster and is decent, makes Pritchard kinda expendable not going to lie

This is good news.
If Yam looks good in workouts and summer league it will allow the Celtics to focus on adding veterans at other positions than PG.
If Yam looks like a dud, then they will likely be looking for someone else to help support/displace Smart/Pritchard.

I don't think Yam will make much difference in that regard. They'll add the vet guard simply if they see the value in that particular player I'm thinking. The possibility of a 2nd round pick from Israel performing well in Summer League of all places really shouldn't enter their consideration.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

LOL, after watching the film of Madar, I'd like to see Justin Tillman in Maine.

If he’s brought over, chances are he’s coming over for 1 of the 15 active roster spots. Not sure he comes over for a spot on the Maine Celtics with a 2-way deal.
So in that sense, he would be their 3rd PG and they still have Carsen Edwards as well. So, I think as far as spots go, they will be at their max if Yam is on board. Summer League and workouts will give Ime and Brad enough information on whether he can learn the sets, learn the defense and compete with some NBA caliber athletes. If he really shines then yah, I think they can definitely start to plan on him being a contributor.
Going back to roster spots, the Celtics need veteran depth on the wing and at the PF. You can only add so many players with the MLE, minimum, BAE. so I would think that’s where they will focus their efforts in free agency.

Another great video by Tomasz Kordylewski. Madar is a good all-around player. His defense is excellent, he is good in transition, and his play-making/awareness is very good. Looking forward to seeing a highlight video of him wearing a Celtics uniform.

I think he has NBA talent, but he needs to discover the weight room and also demonstrate that he has the desire to be good.

I know all these highlight videos are just sizzle reels and even anthony Bennett looked good in those but yam still looks like at the very least a good defensive bench guard.
the Israeli league ain’t that great but he really plays great defense. I’m excited for him in summer league if he’s coming over for that at least that means Celtics brass is liking his growth.
He def needs to get on whatever workout regimen semi is on tho I mean that jersey is wearing him.

Does anyone ever circulate lowlight videos? I bet NBA teams have them.

I have my Doubts that he makes the 15-Man roster. More likely, he'll be on a Two-Way contract.

i have my doubts that Carsen Edwards keeps his spot on the 15-man roster.

Every team has videos on weakness for almost every prospect it's the job I interviewed for the pacers last year and didn't get for the gazillionith time so I bought property in Tennessee to try for Memphis or Nashville.

You may be right. I have a feeling he will probably show enough to either be brought over or stashed for another year.

Since the team has decided to bring him over, I have little doubt he will be in the roster. If the intent was for 2 way, ... idk why... he's THE YAMINATOR fer cryin' out loud. Yam Mad-ARRR!!!
Once he pulls off a couple of those smooth bounces passes through the defender's legs, y'all will be crowning him the Israeli White Chocolate and invoking such NBA legends as Pete Maravich, Drazen Petrovic, and.... Jiri Welsh!

Yaminating the NBA is just his first act.
After he’s won 12 championships he’s going to bring peace to the Middle East.

I should know since I'm both a Celtics and Hapoel Tel Aviv fan. For more than 25 years now.. How times passes by..
Kind of a funny and happy situation actually, to have a player I watch and root for regularly becomes a Celtics player.
Yam Is a great talent. It's hard to be objective but Ifor in my opinion he is a first round talent for sure.

Maybe a longer and slightly taller TJ mcConnell with a better offensive game. I always find player comparison a hard thing to do.
I still remember how surprised was everyone in Europe when Tony Parker became one of the best pg in the NBA. I mean, players who played with him and against him were shocked.
I remember some u18 players who played for the Israeli national team saying that they didn't think hell even be a eurolige player. And those are guys who played against him and saw him play in a few weeks tournament.
Yam is a jack of all threads master of none type of player right now.
The reason I bring up Parker is that Yam can be as good if he can take one of his offensive skills to be all NBA level. Parker could get to the paint at will, and was one of the best inside scorers I remember for a guy his size.
The chances are very slim, but as Tony Parker proved, it's possible.
Regarding the near future, Yam needs to get acclimated to the NBA game. I think he will benefit from the bigger pitch and better spacing.

Interesting. Player comps are tough but I can see that. He’s feisty like TJ on defense and seems pass first but with more scoring.
Seems like Israeli league has a lot of versatile bigs. It doesn’t seem like he blows by guys but there aren’t a ton of big lumbering guys to pick on over there from what it seems.
