Edit: Obviously, if Smart DOES play, most of the discussion is moot.

Assume Smart had a bout of actual COVID. How long did it likely last? Is the length of time being devoted to re-conditioning plausible if he had Omicron? If he had another variant?

Or is the whole thing (even if originally real) probably being used as a gimmick to hold him out ahead of a potential trade?

He suffered a knee/upper leg injury prior to re-contracting covid.
