1) never heard of Tyler bey

2) can a guy the rockets - worst team in the NBA waived (bey) really be better than a guy the Jazz - best team in the NBA waived (Juwan Morgan) ?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

In a vacuum, sure.

There are factors that make a good team's most waivable player likely to be better than a bad team's most waivable player. There are also factors that work in the opposite direction. It's not obvious which set of factors outweighs the other.

Bey must be very underwhelming if he can't even get on the court for Houston or Dallas, especially with how young he is. And his body type/position. I don't think he'd have anything to offer us tbh

I don't know how Bey will end up, but why did Houston cut him so early? They didn't even give him a chance in camp. What is he like off the court? It could be as simple as letting him find a place where he will get a chance before TC starts.

I'm not surprised when people don't get a fair shake when they aren't shooters in today's nba, it seems like he's more of a defender, I hate that they devalue defense so much. I don't remember if I liked him coming out because once we don't pick them, most of the guys I don't care about anymore.

Tyler Bey is 3 and D without the 3-- or any other type of offensive game.

I have no insider knowledge so take this with a grain of salt, but I'm predicting Jayson Tatum will start the upcoming season in a Celtics uniform.

If this turns out to be true and I believe it will, I'm gonna rub my rightness in all your faces on Celtics opening night.

Do you pull the trigger on this trade?

Simmons+Thybulle for Brown+Schroeder+Juancho
Pritchard, Thybulle, Tatum, Simmons, Horford -- Smart, Romeo, J-Rich, Parker, RW3 -- Edwards, Nesmith, GWill, Bruno, Kanter

Yep, I wanted a last trade but it seems Brad is done dealing. Time to shut this thread or people will start the ridiculous Simmons for Brown trades...

Hard pass.

Simmons cratered his value and Brown's is still on the rise. Think Philly fans would have to agree there is a significant gap between the two at this stage. Thybulle is a beast defensively, but with Smart on the roster you really don't need a 2nd defensive bulldog wing that doesn't do much damage defensively. So while he's got more value than Schroder/Juancho, the fit counteracts that to an extent (plus Schroder at his current cost is a few weeks of good play from being a solid asset himself) and the overall package still feels like it leans heavily towards Philly's favor (especially in the context of Ben asking out and the awkwardness forcing their hand to some extent).

I'd absolutely trade for Simmons, but wouldn't touch Brown/Tatum to do it, which basically kills it dead from the jump.

I would not trade anything for Simmons unless he were going to a third team.

I'd trade for Simmons, but it just won't be a package Philly would accept.

Maybe as part of a 3 team deal, where team "x" (aka Rockets) aren't interested in holding onto him and flip him on to a third team for picks, then sure, but I can't imagine that Philly would allow that and have him come back to play them on a division rival.

Simmons would be a great fit with Brown/Tatum in my opinion.

It might have been a possibility, but since the C's no longer have Moses Brown, then it really can't happen.

No Boston has no interest in trading Brown but even outside of that context he is an ascending player who has made bigs jumps the last two years. Simmons has flat lined as a player if not regressed and his now overpaid for his role.
