Copied my post from the GB because I'm lazy...

My first thought was taking a quality starter and making them sixth man should result in a likely 6MOY.

However on second thought it's really not that straightforward because so many players would not have the buy-in and make the right adjustments to do so.

Brogdon has been excellent for most the year and has given whatever Celts needed, be it distribution, driving or high quality shooting with decent defense. Not to mention the locker room vibes and BBIQ.

A well deserved win.

Turns out he's the first Celtics to win 6MotY since Cs got 3 of the first 4 awards. (McHale/McHale/Walton, after the first ever went to Bobby Jones.)

And by the way -- isn't the award named after a person now, such as Havlicek?

Fun Fact #1: Malcolm is only the second NBA player in history to win both Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year (Mike Miller is the other one.)

(Side Note: Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. There’s a claim that Ben Gordon won both RoY and 6MoY in his rookie year. Nope! Emeka Okafor won RoY in 2004-05, not Gordon.)

Fun Fact #2: Brogdon is the only 6MoY awardee who has the voice of a former US president AND looks like a character from The Office (US).

brogdon's been so good this year. I don't have the numbers, but it feels like he's been reliably healthy this year too. Couldn't have missed many games at all.

Seriously! It’s registered in the official site of Guinness Book of World Records.

Oh that’s crazy. I remember that year. I felt like Gordon got sixth man over Ricky Davis as a consolation (pretty much) for not winning rookie of the year. Wild that’s in Guinness

Can't add enough kudos to Brogdon for getting that 6th Man of the Year award. Knew he'd light it on fire as soon as he was traded here, but this? Man oh man.

That said, is this our dude Smitty being featured around 0:02 of the Celtics official tweet???? :o Let's gooo!!!!
