Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
We need 1 win to get that #2 seed. Hopefully they play the guys for 1 game and then rest them the last game? Play Brogdon/Muscala/White/Blake/Kornet/Grant/etc. 2 wins to have HCA vs any WC team.
Good assessment:

I think that we have to keep an eye on the West. We may have to go 2 Games.
Hopefully though, we can play the Bench Mob for the End of the Season.
I'd like to see Kabengele and Davison in there, too. As these are the last games that Two-Ways can play.

Do we have the tiebreaker over DEN? If so, one game does it. If not, then might as well win 2.

Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
Welp
Malcolm brilliant & clutch all game - except 1 bad TOV.
Derrick excellent all around game as usual.
Rob energy & D as usual.
Muscala very very good game.
7 w lots of points & rebounds but shot horribly & his usual 4 TOV.
LOCKED INTO 2 SEED & OFFICIALLY LOCKED OUT OF THE 1 SEED.
Who will we get in R1?
Looks like the Heat more likely than the Raps or Hawks - if the Heat do not catch the Nets for the 6 seed (very unlikely because the Nets Magic Number to lock in the 6 seed is now ONE).
Heat then Sixers then Bucks w/o HC is doing it the hard way. What else would you expect with this team? Getting 18 will be hard work.
Do not rest too many starters in the final 2 games.
Build up mo.
Build up Bobby’s minutes.
Thoughts about R1 opponent please?
PS NO MORE B2Bs until October. We get Al & Bobby EVERY GAME NOW!

Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
It's (pretty much) all over now. The top 6 seeds in the East are (probably):
1. Milwaukee
2. Boston
3. Philadelphia
4. Cleveland
5. New York
6. Brooklyn
7 will probably be Miami, question now is 8 (likely Atlanta)

Yea, it is a proper way to send Haslem to retirement.

The play in tournament will determine that..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

The way things are going to play out is that Boston's going to end up against Miami in the first round.
Tough series for Boston and I can see this series going 7 games.

we went 1-1 against DEN, right? So what would the next tiebreaker be should we drop the last two and they win their last three?
screw it, it ain't happening, just looking for something to talk about:)

I talked myself into looking forward to playing miami. I have no doubt we beat them and beating them would be more satisfying than beating any other first round team. We broke their hearts last year. Let's rub salt on the wound this year. This is assuming they even win their play in.

Last small bit of business - one more Celtics win or Nuggets loss guarantees Celtics homecourt against the West if they make the Finals
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

I'd say 5 maybe 6. If we can't take this Heat team before 7, it's going to be a rough playoff run! Need to match their physicality and Timelords going to make the difference on Bam. No way ATL comes out as the 7 seed. Their defense is non existent.... Lets get it!

Hopefully KD & co will take care of DEN tonight, then it can be all Davison and Shamwowpennny all the time! For 2 games, that is.

I mentioned this before but Spo is going to coach circles around Joe. On top of that Bam and Butler always gives the Celtics issues.
Herro is is throrn in Bostons and Lowry, as cooked as he looks, is going to play well against Boston and we have to deal with his flopping all series.
Like I said it wouldn't surprise me if Boston loses in the first round or makes it to the finals.

Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
I don't really buy this narrative that Spoelstra is gonna coach circles around Mazzulla.
First off, if Spoelstra is such a great coach, why did his team drop from 1 seed last year to the 7 seed this year, with the same roster?
Secondly, this is a player's league. Players win games. Let's not overstate how much effect the coach has on the outcome of a 7 game playoff series.
Lastly, we already know everything Spoelstra is gonna throw at us. We've seen his zone countless times at this point and have had plenty of practice at scoring on it. We had a tough 7 game series vs miami last year and a tough 6 game series vs them in 2020. Plus regular season games vs them. All of those games they've had the same core - Jimmy, Bam and Herro. Meanwhile, Miami is less certain about what Mazzulla might throw at them - this is the first ever playoff series where Miami is going against the celtics with Mazzulla as HC. Mazzulla saw what worked and what didn't work vs Miami in the playoffs last year..
