I hear ya Fierce, but they all came together in one year to make it happen. This group came in acting like it was a scrimmage last night! Every star from the opposing teams light us up at the TD..... No way, we should have taken the L last night! Just disappointing all around, and Joe was amateur hour in game 1....To be continued

But the end result was a loss, as was the Atlanta loss where we relied on him too heavily on final possessions.

Smart is the least of our worries. He did fine this game. Tatum is what i’m worried. He doesn’t have a go to shot other than chuxking 3’s. When he goes to the basket, i don’t have confidence of him making the shot, even if it’s a wide open layup. He holds the ball too long, even in the double, like what happened when his pass was deflected. He anticipates/expects contact and a call when he drives, instead of just trying to make the shot, and let the refs do their job.

Yeah if Tatum keeps scoring 39 on 25 shots we gonna be back in the lottery pretty soon. He just doesn't know how to score.

Celtics have decided they are not going to defend anymore. No defense, no championship

Hal says they are a good defense though. Must be true.

Surprised 2 are worse obviously the Hawks is one but we held them 2 points under their average cuz the defense has been good.

But I'm not surprised because we already saw this happen in regular season.

I really don't expect the Cs to suddenly become a different team from the regular season after just a week after the regular season ended.

Execution in the clutch is the main problem.

Celts have lost so many games this season because they make stupid mistakes in the clutch.

That turnover by Brogdon in the last 26 seconds was so stupid.

I mean the Cs were leading by 1 point!

Even if Brogs shot the ball and missed, it would have better compared to passing it to Maxey!

The closest thing to a damning statement you’ll get from me is yeah, I do have some concerns about Joe’s feel for the game lol.

Took me about a week into the regular season to come to this conclusion. Also said this man was going to cost us playoff games.

Look, part of it is on the players. There’s been blown rotations and sloppy execution but Joes defensive game plan is doing this team zero favors. Harden can’t drive the paint at will like he once could. Drop coverage to keep him off the FT line when he can’t miss from deep is just an indefensible coaching decision. It didn’t work against Trae, it’s not going to work against Harden either

It's both executing and defense. This team has been terrible defensively in the playoffs contrary to what some people say. This team simply can't win a championship with this pathetic defense.

On top of that this team just isn't clutch. They had a four-point lead with 3 minutes to go which I know isn't a lot but they then proceeded to do what they do best which is piss down their legs and crunch time

Two takeaways here, and big ones at that. This is the playoffs. If you can't be motivated each and every game to play your best, no matter who is or isn't on the floor for the other team, the NbA playoffs aren't for you. Number two is if your head coach can't motivate the team to play their best each and every playoff game, that coach does not have a good influence on the players.

Reading these posts you'd think the Celtics just got swept by Philly. We knew they would take a game or two. This isn't a big deal. Celtics key in on defense and the series is over. Infinitely more talented. They'll be fine

It's fine taking a game or two but it's not a good sign when they lose their first home game when an MVP candidate is out. Now their backs are already up against the wall because if they lose another home game they will be down 0-2 and headed to Philly.

I'm curious as to what you've seen to think this team can key in on defense? They weren't good against Atlanta and now they're up against Philly who was the third best three-pointing shooting team.

I cant imagine that theres another team in the nba that has lost more games in the 4th qtr than we have. Something has to change in the team’s dna. To me its Smart and Tatum. Tatum is passive and disappears and Smart gambles too much with the game on the line.we’re not trading tatum so smart is the obvious guy to go. Joe is burning his starters out. Tatum went 44 last night. No wonder the pace slowed in the 4th. Hauser and grant played 4 minutes each. Wtf is that?

The defensive level isn't just effort, is schemes and lineup, the team is playing with a small ball that is small (two guards and tatum as pf) and a C (horford) that even in his prime had a hard time in this context. This may work in the RS but not in playoffs where the game is more intense, slower and smarter. It also affects rebound, tire more our two stars and likely there are less mismatches on offense.

Not a coaching issue, I strongly feel the young men on this team have a serious missing piece between their ears.

Been playing down for years.

I always claim that this is a learning moment...but how many times can I say this.
