Its time to sit pritchard and play other guys. He’s struggled all year and he’s giving us zero production. He’s an undersized two guard who can’t hit an outside shot.

The third quarter thing is weird lol.

Something I was always taught is that the second half is where coaching shows up, or doesn’t.

Joe may not be a very good in game coach lol, luckily the staff behind him is really strong.

It was an issue when Ime was the coach too, no?

It wasn't.

2019-20: 1st in net rating in 3Q
2021-22: 1st in net rating in 3Q
2022-23: 2nd in net rating in 3Q
2023-24: 22nd in net rating in 3Q

I skipped the season where we were starting Thompson and Theis lol, but they were still top 10 in net rating for 3Q.

Oh ok. I thought there was that game where Ime was the coach and the Warriors in the finals went on a crazy run, it was like 20-2 or something and thought that was the 3rd quarter. But I suppose it may have been just a one-time thing if overall we were good in the 3rd quarter that season..

Yikes, he's down to 31% from 3 on the season.

He's gotta pick that up. That's what he's in there to do. Otherwise, we'll need to try someone else out in that spot or see what we can get for him in a trade..

Does anyone really believe that Joe Maxzula has the coaching experience and acumen to lead us to a title? Our offense is stagnant and he continues to trot out lineups that don’t work. For the life of me I don’t understand why Brad Stevens believes Mazzula is the right coach for this team. He’s awful. When your team comes out flat in the second half you immediately call time out and chew them out. Instead he waits until we give up an 8 point lead and are down. Brown has no business anchoring the second unit. Zero assists! He makes no one better. Tatum was passive. How are those two guys ever going to “ lead” us to a title?

It's painful to watch him jack up shots from 30 feet out because that's the only way he can get a shot up.

It's hard to trot out lineups that work when 3 of your starters are completely out of it and your backup PG is Payton Pritchard. If Brown is not anchoring the second unit, who will? Neither Jrue nor White were getting anything done.

I'm certainly starting to have my doubts.

The Pacers played with more passion, more energy. They wanted it more, they out-worked us, out-hustled us. They played with more confidence, more assertiveness than us. They played more connected than us, they seemed more like a team and less like 5 individuals.

Yes it's just 1 game. But you could swap our "Pacers" in that last paragraph for a different opponent we had from other games this season and last season and it would be true for the most part. It was true during the Grizzlies game, the hornets game, the Magic game, the loss we had to Philly..and it was true during each playoff series we had last season..

Joe been much better this year. I don’t know what you guys are complaining about.

Team needs to get to rim more. Late I. Game , he went to Tatum ISO and it worked. Tatum was good down the stretch.

Issue was defense. Couldn’t guard hAlliburton.

Top 5-9 players in the league, that's what he is.

Not sure why everyone is talking about Tatum and Brown on this thread. They are what they are. combined 6 assists to 5 TOs. Brown had 0 assists.

This loss is on Joe being outcoached. Jrue, Al and Pritchard playing really bad. Team continuing to be soft. 5 FT attempts as a team outside of Tatum's 7 attempts. Shooting bad from 3.

feel how you want to but stats, check, the nba, media, etc all say you are wrong.

Stats say is has the worst assists to TO ratio among the top players. Facts are he can't led a team. Facts are he doesn't make his teammates better. I watch every game and it's obvious he doesn't make his teammates better.

My standards of an MVP candidate are higher than most. No knock on Tatum, he is a top 6-10 player in the league.

Tatum makes his teammates better just not to the level he needs to with the way teams defend him. Teams know he struggles to make fast reads which is part of the reason they will double him so often. He is not at the point where he can consistently make them pay. He has gotten better and at times looks like he has it figured out but it is just not instinctively who he is yet.

Read on Twitter

Marcus Smart too slow bringing down the ball. Er I mean, Jrue Holiday. One pass possessions rule!

It almost always is.

This team has won games from the clutch defense this year and their clutch defense didn't get stops.

Starts and ends there, and terrible third quarters

This is it IMO. They have the guys to do it. I don't mind jacking up 3's but you have to know when it is time to try something different game to game, situation to situation.

Without KP, it's basically last year's team, with Jrue an upgrade over Smart.

The Pacers just got too many points in the paint down the stretch.

Guys like Nesmith would not have scored on drives to the basket if KP was in there.

Kornet is just not capable of protecting the rim or playing good defense.

Kornet replaced Al with 4:44 left in the 3rd.

Pacers were only leading by 2 points.

In a span of 3 and a half minutes the Celts went from down 2 points to down 11 points.

Cs will not win many games if Kornet is the 2nd big man on the depth chart.

Nothing about not switching.

When you're right you’re right. I dont know what he was saying about not waiting until the ball but your explanation above this one made more sense.

I'm just basing it off on their PG comments and the clip of the play. Dunno if they should or should not switch a ghost screen like the one set by Hield. Al held until JB got close enough. JB said they weren’t supposed to switch that even if they were already switching the previous ones. (Al wasn't in a drop as JB was claiming. Drop would mean he'd be under Hield.) Either way, he was far behind Hield, who was popping on the right wing and too far back Hali. So who was he supposed to be guarding on that instance?

If he didn't think they were supposed to switch, why did he stop chasing Hield and square up at 0:45 even before Al could step through the ghost screen?

LOL at Tatum's reaction after the make (0:50). Byebye golf day in Vegas.

LAST EDIT: BTW, Carlisle smart enough to recognize and pick on the two weakest defensive links on that lineup.

The two weakest links? Watch the 4th again.

Also, Al is going to defend if nothing else most games, he’s not a weak link on defense in general! JB, fine, but don’t do Alford!!

Should’ve clarified further. In the context of having to guard PnR with a long range 45+% bomber and passing maestro handling the ball, Horford definitely is compared to Tatum/Jrue/White. We already saw it against Curry in the Finals. (Hali is playing like prime Curry to start the season.) And Al’s gotten even older and slower since then. Plus some nights his legs do fail him.

Tatum already played 37 minutes. You can't just ride Tatum 40+ minutes in the regular season like Jason Kidd is doing with Luka. At some point, Jaylen has to step up and be the 2nd option.

Joe didn't treat this game as a playoff game.

If he did, JT would have gone 40 minutes or more.

Not really a big deal, but a bit disappointing we won't have any Celtic games for a week.
