Right before our game, I watched the last 2 minutes of the Grizzlies-Pelicans game. Ja Morant got the rebound, 113-113, 10 seconds left. Taylor Jenkins called a timeout. They sat, rested, drew a plan. Then Ja executed and they won.
This is the complete opposite of the last 10 seconds of our game. This is how you win a close game in the last possession.
We don't have a roster problem, or a toughness problem. We have a coaching problem. Joe might be the worst coach in the league.

I mean Ja is a 6'2 guard who might be the most explosive driver in the league. You can't just ask Tatum or Jaylen to start doing what Ja does. They can't.

So you are insinuating the figure it out offense in the biggest possessions of games isn't a good strategy. It's math's and analytics.

Now I'm just over it. Bring on the Kings.

So why won't you do something about the coaching problem?

What does Ja have to do with a coach not putting them in the best position to win?

The Grizzlies ran a dribble ISO. That's not really any kind of coaching, it's asking Ja to make something happen.

I don't think we want Tatum or Brown to be like Ja.

I mean guns blazing and all.

Silver allowed them to turn the magnets on in exchange for Draymond's suspension.

Reasons the C's lost:

1) Bad shooting luck. I know people hate hearing this, but games in which you shoot sub 30% from three and your opponent shoots 40% or better are heavily weighted towards being a loss.

2) The C's fell into the "Sam Hauser" trap but with Steph Curry. After he came back into the game to start the 4th with 5 fouls they threw away their offense to hunt him on post ups. Steph is not a bad defender, ref's are going to do everything they can NOT to foul him out, and GSW will do everything they can to protect him. Its dumb offense to hunt a not bad defender.

3) Tatum was hurt, I think it was obvious he didn't have any burst on offense. This is on the coaching, if a guy isn't physically good enough to make a positive impact or play the right way he should sit. I appreciate Tatum's desire to be an iron man, but take a game off if your ankle is bad.

Given that these three things are unlikely to be major recurring problems I'm not to worried about this game, the shots they got were good. Just need to hit them.

I just don't get JB's thinking.

I think we're winless in all games where Brown either flexes in the first half, and/or makes "too small" gestures on anybody.

A game where you miss 2 dunks and get blocked multiple times was just not the game to make the too little gesture.

The only positive to me from last night is Queta. He might be a legit backup big in the league.

Lots to work on, gotta stay healthy, but I'm very impressed by him

When you have Ja, that's not a bad ATO play. Jenkins knows his personnel.

Tatum bombing a contested three - our usual end-game go-to - is a terrible shot. Especially when you need one point to win.

We have all sorts of stuff we can do to get a better shot without leaving time on the clock. This should be obvious?

If Hauser was just normal Hauser this game would have been out of reach. But the truth is then we wouldn't have realized how much of a closing problem we have.

Tatum would be a top 2 MVP candidate if he just eliminated most of his horrifically and analytically poor pull up 3-shooting. Everything else he does is MVP level (when he plays focused defense). But he continues that trend and clearly hurts himself and the team.

Last but clearly not least is Joe really is what he is. A limited coach with not much in game management and/or adjusting ability. He literally may be the most overly friendly and hold no one accountable coach in the league.

Maybe he would be better with a young unproven team at coaching. But clearly in this situation and with this group of players and their expectation level he is way over his head.

The evidence of Joe being an asset to this team and getting a title is only imaginary at this point. Stevens really assembled such a good roster (Yes not perfect but who has). But it would be a massive shame if his loyalty and decision to Keep Joe is our down fall.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Unconventional, silly even, but just run the clock down to about 2-3 seconds then call a timeout. Run one of Brad's end-of-game plays that end up with a paint score or open jumper. Hope you don't turn the ball over. JT contested pullup three is a low % shot anyway.

Brad used to call timeouts in the middle of an EOG possession when nothing's developing so he can come up with a play. I miss that.

Let him abuse Al and our bigs on switches, panic when he gets going and completely fall apart on the other end. This is a 4-2 series in their favor as long as Steph is alive lol. Especially when JT is **** awful against them

I missed the game. Were they allowing Steph and others to switch onto the bigs every time? That is poor coaching.

They were playing drop most of the game and switched at the end when Steph started to kill it. But asking Al to switch on Curry, even how great he is at his age at ISO defense, is too much.

They should've just gone Tatum at the 5 again

Yeah but he was hobbling and letting everyone score.
