First game of the Olympics preparation for France. Wemby played 19 minutes and scored ten buckets. During his minutes Turkey scored one

Sure, Wemby's amazing and all, but is that former Celtic legend Gerschon Yabusele running with him? With the "French Draymond" how can they lose?

I don't know if this was supposed to be ironic but Yabusele is legitimately really goood at basketball. He is one if the stars of Real Madrid, the best non NBA team on the planet, and had been a starter for France for years (including their win against team USA at Tokyo in the group stage and that entire run to the silver medal). He no longer starts for France but that's not really his fault. Wemby and Gobert have to start (and Batum gets a lot of small ball 4 minutes and plus Lessort has made the last two All EuroLeague team and is the backup 5). Just getting minutes on in this frontcourt is impressive (the backcourt is another story unfortunately).

Of course he’s really good at basketball, anyone who has cashed an NBA paycheck and suited up for even a minute is basically a god at the sport. I was just excited to see him on the court again in that highlight, I always liked him when he was here.

It's already retired for Bill Russell. New season. Time to change your jersey numbers, you dicks.

Actually they are.

They're fast-tracking the end of his short NBA career.

We all know Bronny is not a legit NBA player.

Let the spotlight shine bright for a while then turn it off completely when nobody is bothering to look anymore.

We don't really know that, but it won't be easy to develop with all this attention. Has there ever been a late 2nd round pick under the spotlight like this? Isn't it enough punishment to be forever in the shadow of someone like LeBron?

He's just not an NBA player.

A guy who's only 6-1 and is not even a PG.

Too many signs point to him more of a player destined to end up playing in China.

He is listed at 6'4, per 40 averaged 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.2 TOs after his season was interrupted by a heart problem. nbadraftroom has nice things to say about him.

I really don't know if he is an NBA player, but I don't get the hate. Actually I kind of do get it, it's just not deserved. I'm not even sure he wanted to get drafted by the Lakers, by all accounts he wants to be his own player and escape the stigma of being "Lebron's son."

Actual height is 6-1.5 inches.

Different story if he's 6-4.

6'1.5 w/o shoes, 6'7 wingspan, 210 lbs. Those aren't great measurements but beats out Scottie Pippen Jr. and Michael Jordan Jr., also John Stockton's son. Mogged by Kenyon Martin Jr. and Ron Harper Jr., though.

I got curious and checked which teams besides the Celtics had retired the number anyway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_retired_numbers

I got Julius Erving, Walter Davis, and a couple of "Sixth man" citations presumably meant to flatter the fans themselves.

Not only is this a truly great sports highlight -- not least in the celebration afterwards -- but the comments below give real insight into what was going on.

tl;dr:

-- The race was closer after 3 legs than it seemed, as the American who got clobbered for most of the third leg recovered some of the distance right at the end.
-- The French anchor swimmer probably went out too fast.
-- The French anchor swimmer also allowed the American to draft off him, which didn't have to happen.
