It's a weirdly convenient symbiosis with the C's current situation and that trio of backup C's. We have a glut of big man minutes with KP being out half of next year and Horford likely resting more than ever, so we can actually give the backups the kind of minutes they'd normally get from mediocre/lottery teams. They get to play/earn their next contracts while still on a championship contender, while we get continuity and depth until we're at full strength.

We've got good variety between the trio as well. Luke is the jack of all trades, Queta the beefier developmental project and Tillman the versatile perimeter defender. Add in Watson as more of a small ball 4/5 and you've got a big for most every occasion.

Still can't believe we got them all so cheap (especially Tillman).

Unpopular opinion maybe…but the Knicks suck.
Bridges is over rated, Brunson has peaked, OG is a role player, they have RW3 light at center who can’t stay on the court and no backup big worth a ****. Best rebounder is 6’4”
They are not the Celtics competition.
I pick them to get 48 wins a second round elimination…if they stay healthy.

The Celtics should be bigger favs this season imo. Not quite even money but close. Maybe like +150

I expect Tatum and Brown to be better. Tatum if he can find his jumpshot from the 21-22 season will be lethal. He just needs to find the right balance.

I also expect White to make the All Star game as he will be the 3rd option until KP returns. He has improved every season in Boston and that will continue.

Less concern about Jrue aging since he’s ideal in this low usuage role and quarterbacking the defense. Have to worry about Al though. KP is a walking injury but there’s a chance we have him healthy for our playoff run.

Hauser should get better with his new contract and I expect his minutes to get increased early with KP on the shelf. Same for Tillman.

Pritchard and springer are interesting. Can springer push Pritchard for his minutes?

I can see it being a tough series.

- Knicks have the wings to defend Tatum and Brown which is something few teams can say
- Knicks can put Randle at the 4 and make Tatum defend the post. This isnt as much a problem as it used to be but could get Tatum in foul trouble or mess up our rhythm for a game or two. Sure Tatum can attack Randle at the other end but it’s tough if Al or Zingus isn’t hitting from outside on a given night.
- Brunson is reallly, realllllly good. Almost as good as prime IT. The type of guy where you think the defense is perfect and he is still killing you. He lifts up all his teammates and makes those around him better. Celts were fortunate knicks weren’t healthy last year.

I want a Celts Knicks series. I have some good friends who are knicks fans and I need to talk ****

Knicks will be a really good team like Thibs’ Chicago teams. But their strength on the wing is still a weakness compared to Boston’ wings and if Celtics play well at all, they do the same thing as Luka and the Mavs. Let Brunson hit his tough shots and just force everyone on the other team to settle for mediocre shot types all game long for as many games as it takes to win.

It's been a while since this gif's been posted on this forum. Tells you how the past year or so has gone for the team we love.

Also, special thanks to SBOBO Brad whose statue has yet to be erected, wtf.

My YT algorithm keeps reminding me that I'm a fan of the current NBA champions and I kinda like it. This was from two months ago.

Absolute Legend.

Man, this is going to be the first season with no Tommy or Mike for... 4 decades? Maybe Gorman will stop by the Garden every now and again.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but regardless of minutes played, this "stat" is still crazy and shows just how much the Team USA committee knows how good the Celtics were this year.

With Team USA having 12 roster spots, each NBA team theoretically should have 0.4 players on average on the team.

With 3 players, the Celtics made up 25% of the team USA roster.

Also, the Celtics, Lakers and Suns made up 58% of the team.

Save the knees for when we're 70 to 80 years old.

IMO I think 40 years old is when to stop playing basketball.

All that running and jumping really wears out the meniscus.

I suffered a partially torn ACL when I was 40. Math sounds about right.

What a great video by Timi. Most backcourts you have a season highlight video to get that much content. Our guys do it in a single playoff run was the best part. The blocks on the big guys through various series (so not just one favorable matchup) was second best part imo.

Look at how long White stayed in the air when Kyrie moved the ball and held it behind his head! How is he flowing with Kyrie, waiting on Kyrie’s adjustment and still getting it?! Man is a GOAT blocking machine! The block on Turner, sweet! Like long arm of the law!!

Might be the only team with entire starting five in top 50 on NBA2K, if you're into that kind of thing.
