Rondo Trade Rumors & Ideas (update pg 8)

If you subbed Jeff Green in for Rondo, I still wouldn't want any part of that trade. I would rather let Rondo hit FA than trade him within the division for trash like that.

Sac, Cha, Det all fit the bill as a team I could see Danny accepting 2 unprotected firsts from. And I'd imagine he'd try to get one after Rondo's current deal is set to expire just in case he decides he doesn't want to stay in one of those cities and go to a place like NY to play with Melo.

And none of them have one until '16.

If Boston comes away with a two unprotected 1sts including the Lakers '14 over the next 3 years and Alex Len for Rondo and Green then sure I can see a deal but it would seem like PHX is way way way overpaying here.

The Lakers can't deal their '14 because the Suns' have their '15. I guess if PHX trades the Lakers one of their late firsts then the Lakers can send their '14 to Boston.

Technically it could be the Lakers '14 and '15 (from PHX) and Alex Len for Rondo and Green. I don't want to trade either guy but if I am trading Rondo at least it is for that.

The guy's timeline is somewhat interesting....just started to tweet at the beginning of the season...claims to have had the KG to Nets talk before anyone else (doesn't have the tweets to prove it), opines that Boston has to trade Rondo....appears to be a Celtic fan given his frequent tweets about the Cs....broke previous "rumors" about Rondo to NY, Indy, Detroit....had several tweets about Asik back in December and has been saying Green is available all year long....seems to have a good grasp of trade rules and the motivations of several teams....didn't have anything on Lee or Crawford trades until after they were reported by someone else...speculated several times in January about Rondo to LA....just came out today with the Rondo/Gasol/Nash/picks blockbuster, mere hours after Sam Smith says Rondo's price is 2 unprotected firsts.

My take: the rumor taken by itself seems legit, as in plausible, workable under the CBA, and fits the perceived needs of each team. And while the mysterious Paul Stoltz seems intelligent and well-read, my guess is that he's just a guy who really follows the league closely but doesn't have any real sources, he's just one of those aggregators of news masquerading as a legitimate insider. That and he's nowhere to be found on the Internet and not a single legit or even shady b-ball writer has chosen to legitimize his tweets to this point.
