Wow, this is certainly ramping up, good for the players to take a stand though

Weird that it is the LA teams wanting to cancel the season, they have the most to lose. Unless I hear another narrative it feels like they are putting their money where there mouth is. That or Bron is scared since PG found form

I get that doing this makes the news, so there is that. But I'm not sure what more it does. Seems like lighting yourself on fire to protest something- you get on TV but you really only hurt yourself so nothing changes.

I tend to believe this  This coming from the guy, who literally single handedly willed the players to play in the bubble, when a lot of players have doubts into playing. He just looks insincere and phony to me.

Yeah, they really didn't burn to death here. Drastically, drastically different. It's another form of peaceful protest to apply pressure for change, and in the past peaceful protest has helped spur change. Nothing changes when enough voices don't speak up loud enough for those in charge to hear them and long enough for those in charge to give a ****. I have no idea if what the Bucks and the NBA are doing will make a difference but I applaud them for trying to make a difference.

Great post. I think the raw heartfelt and deeply personal responses from George Hill, Jalen Brown, Doc Rivers, Kenny Smith and Lebron James suggest this is going to be a stand against oppression and not just another attempt to draw attention to the issue. Doc Rivers asked “why do we keep trying to love this country” and then said “we have got to demand better.” There is no simple fix to this....if the NBA is motivated to protest at this level I can’t see the playoffs continuing.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

The players took the owners by the balls and said, "you don't make any money without us. Do something about it. We've striked, we will do it again if you don't exert your power and wealth to enact change with local governments, etc." I don't know how people just dismiss how powerful this is. The 30 owners are worth a collective like 200 billion dollars, they can move the political needle any way they want (and they do).
