Ok, now that we’re firing Brad, let’s name some replacements:

Jason Kidd - hey, he used to play right?
Brett Brown - turned Ben Simmons and Embiid to perennial All-Stars!
Jeff Van Gundy - hasn’t coached in years, but players hear him all the time on TV
Mark Jackson - another former player
Mike D’Antoni - several appearances in the WCF!!
Jerry Stackhouse - got the Raptors a G-League chip
Becky Hammon - let’s make history!!
Phil Jackson - why not?

Seriously though - if we fired Brad, it shouldn’t be done until the summer, because the guy who I want coaching the Celtics after is still playing for the Hawks.

I'd say a change should happen this off-season, I'm really not sure we can go into another season with Stevens.

I'd be fine with rondo. I've said it before.

Here’s the thing, there’s no real path. You can’t get anything for the rest of this roster. I know some people think I hate Jaylen, but mostly I think this team is stuck, and trading him is one of the few ways to get some talent.

It’s not that I want to trade him, or settle for a **** package. I just don’t know what they’re supposed to do, other than hope for a minor miracle lol.

Trade him for what?

Just more of in general statement, like I was willing to trade him for Harden, still would take the chance on Towns. But mostly just spitballing, because I don’t know how Danny can fix this.

You were my favourite mod too. Don't make me put you on my **** list

Did some back reading, and I'm really quite surprised that I'm not the only one off the Brad Stevens train, given how passionately he's been defended here. I've been off that train since even before last season. I honestly just don't think he is the right coach for this team. Slim pickings though on who to get to replace him.

From the Washburn article:

Tatum scored a season-low 6 points in 23 foul-plagued minutes and just didn’t seem engaged, despite the fact his buddy Bradley Beal was scoring with ease. And he gave up on a handful of plays defensively because he was discouraged by his offense.

One of the things I don't like about our boy Tatum. I hope he matures from this.

Check out my post in the game thread I believe and in the thread about "Ainge on the hot seat" on general board. I said Brad is losing the team twice. Weird part is they just resigned him.
Good assessment:

Let Evan Turner coach the rest of the season. Trade Kemba. Sit the Jays for stretches due to rest and load management. Might not even have to the way we're playing. Overtake Washington. ;)

I think Stevens steps down before he gets fired.

Bro, I like Gallo too, but you seriously gotta pump the breaks.

I was being facetious in the first part. I’m happy with Brad, warts and all. There’s no coach out there that can take this roster to the promise land. Too many flaws. With that being said, if we do fire Brad, I want Rondo.

If Stevens is going to be fired then Danny does as well. Again I don't think Stevens is faultless but Ainge has created an absolutely terrible roster.

The time has come to part ways with Brad Stevens AND Danny Ainge.

Its time to go Ainge. Thanks for all you’ve done

Past history says Brad stays. Look at how much rope Doc had during some really really bad spells. Including at times fractured relationships between Pierce and Doc.

That said this summer I expect the team to make an offer for Masai Ujiri who seems to be looking to move on and offer him a made up title that puts him above Danny Ainges on the food chain.

If Brad were to step down or be fired my choice for a replacement would be Ettore Messina.

Oh absolutely. He’s never getting fired. But I could see him going back to college if he became unhappy enough.
