lol, that's a stretch man. :)

Big time stretch.
Good assessment:

Both Horford & Kemba were malcontents. I think given the salary remaining for both players this is that rare trade where it works out well for both teams.

No more ballhogging getting in the way of Tatum & Brown's development. Time for them to ascend to superstardom.

Horford was actually playing pretty dang well. The Thunder were winning games, so they pulled the plug on him.

Yep, that's why he was upset. They weren't gonna be able to keep him around when they told him to go home while he was trying to win.

After thinking about it I still don't like the trade but IF it leads to another trade THIS summer than the jury is still out.

But if this is a trade that I'm expected to believe helps us land someone in free agency next year then I outright reject that theory.

I still want another another shooting scoring 3-4 type.

I’m cool with not chasing a true point guard per se but they definitely need some team speed. That scoring wing would ideally be someone who can break a man down off the dribble. Sorely lacking in that area even at full health (it’s Jaylen and ???).

I hate this, Kemba would have been easy to trade as an expiring in the offseason. Yes it saves 30 million if we cut horford next year but we paid to move a contract of a guy who put up 20 5 and 4 after the all star break last year.

Oklahoma City will let him score a ton and absolutly trade him for positive value when he is an expiring. This is such a short cited move to save a little luxary tax money and leaves us with fewer assest to attract a real third star.

I HATE this trade. Brad Stevens just got taken advantage of by Same Presti.

Brown is solid he is worth a late 1st but we couldnt even get OKC to send back one of the later low ist round picks? Bad deal

If a guy can't play in back to back games and can't be counted on to play when he's needed the most, kudos to Brad for getting at least something back for a legit part time player. No hate on Kemba...he's a class act but no way he's worth the money still left on his deal.

Just realized Al and Tristan are teammates now after all the tough times he gave him on the Cavs . For how long remains to be seen, but I find it amusing as hell

when kemba's knee keeps flaring up and they're stuck paying 38 mil for a guy who can barely play half the games, we'll see how much of a genius presti is then. the only thing smart about this move from presti is that kemba is a #1 tank commander.

I’m a big fan of this trade. I love Kemba but he just wasn’t a fit.

Wow brad wasting little time making a mild splash here. I know everyone hates kemba and he smiles a lot but I can’t help but feel sad he didn’t work out and feel bad for him being back in purgatory with a **** team.

I think the trade will work out tho al will fit right back in even Moses Malone I mean brown is quietly pretty good basically whiteside with a brain and more effort. Not to mention he ate us for lunch in that game this year.

Now let’s package Tristan and grant for a backup point and possibly a 3D guy.

Today's trade has a lot to do with $$ and flexibility, but there's also an element of Brad bringing back a player I don't think he ever wanted to lose in the first place.

Don’t think there’s much evidence for that. Kemba for Horford has been talked about for a year.

When Kyrie bolted 2 years ago I was told that Brad preferred to keep Al, whereas DA wanted to bring in Kemba instead and roll with Theis/Kanter at C. Brad felt like the young players responded really well to Al's leadership and Al was a bridge from coach to young players.

Let's not forget the team came within a 4th quarter of making the NBA finals with rookie Tatum, 2nd year Brown, Rozier, Smart, Morris and Horford. Horford is the type of player that does so much that doesn't show up in the box score. His impact goes beyond what the common fan can see.
$$ and age aside, I still like this move even if we'r only talking about Kemba for Al. Al never has been a high flyer....He plays an old school game that features a high Bball IQ, underrated passing skills, ability to stretch the floor, terrific communication skills, and leadership on and off the floor.
This team will immediately be better simply by having Horford back on the floor.

Huh, interesting. We were probably better off in year 1. But I think the excitement of a max free agent, the desire to replace Kyrie and cushion the blow of losing a star, the value of Kemba’s scoring, personality and leadership were absolutely overvalued. We all knew that at the time but were caught up in the moment. It always seemed like there was an incentive, too, to keep winning momentum so that Brown and Tatum would stay committed to the franchise.

Not everyone hates Kemba, I actually still really like him. His contract vs. how often he could actually play just turned into an anchor so finding a way to shed it was a good move. Horford is a better fit even if he's old and he's on a smaller contract and picking up Brown is nice, at worse he's a good back up big for when Timelord can't play which up till now has been far too often.

I am just glad Kemba is gone. Hated him on the Celtics. Now we do not have to watch that silly smile anymore...
