Re: New Rumors and News Thread
So should we expect the rumor mill to heat up again or is this the roster we are going into the season? Im fine with it if it is but i wouldnt mind a Noel trade either.

Might be a little buzz, but most of the league is on a semi-vacation for the next 2-3 weeks before things pick back up as camps get started in September. I think it is highly likely the roster you see now (minus one more camp signing) is the roster you'll see for the preseason.

I am sure Danny would love a consolidating deal. I just don't think the back end of our roster has much value. I would imagine Youngs value is close to Perry Jones last year. Maybe Hunter still has some fans league wide. But I doubt we could get more than a second or two for him.
All the non guaranteed guys and Bentil get cut. Then sign in Maine.
Then we dump Young with cash or just outright waive him.

I'm not expecting anything big but I would like to see a minor move to improve our rebounding.

You are pretty spot on with the way Young is seen around the league. Some team may take a flier on him, but most already have their own young prospect. Philadelphia seems to make some sense, as they still need shooting. The challenge is that they have a big roster crunch of their own. Boston isn't likely to get anything of value for him. Especially not after he was openly ripped at Summer League.
Hunter is approaching that same territory, but he's not there yet. He's only got one year under his belt and guys tend to make a fairly big leap from year 1 to year 2. The hope is that Hunter will do the same. If not, you could see a similar scenario play out with him at this time next year.

IMO, that move would have been to find a roster spot for Zizic. I think he comes over next year for sure though.

Re: New Rumors and News Thread
This is my most likely scenario IMO. Doubt we make any big time moves. We all hope/want that, but chances are slim as usual.
Traded for a 2nd :: James Young
Signed in the DLeague :: Ben Bentil & D. Jackson
Cut :: John Holland & M. Georges-Hunt
My Depth Chart ::
Isaiah Thomas - Marcus Smart - Terry Rozier
Avery Bradley - Gerald Green - R.J. Hunter
Jae Crowder - Jaylen Brown
Amir Johnson - Jonas Jerebko - Jordan Mickey
Al Horford - Kelly Olynyk - Tyler Zeller
We keep a roster spot open just to keep flexibility.
Not saying we're a lock, but we have realistic goals to be a final 4 team in the NBA this year. With those odds only going up in in the future. That's awesome from where we were 2-3 years ago. Plus we have a fun to watch team which makes it better lol.
So pumped for this season.

Like this ^^^ mucho.
You think this team beats out the Raptors, Bulls & revamped Knicks for #2 in the EC?
Trade Young for the Truth to play limited minutes, clutch minutes if he demonstrates he can shoot as he did for Wizards in 14-15, mentor Jaylen, & retire in Boston in June.
What is Young's salary? Paul only earns 3m I think this year.

Re: New Rumors and News Thread
After Nader news, Celtics still have one open camp roster spot more than a month before preseason.

Looks good.
I might keep 15-men, 'til the 10-Days become available, in early January.
Young, is making $1.8M this season. Holland, almost $0.9M (unguaranteed), and Bentil $543G, with $250G guaranteed.

We could use a Big-Man. --- Preseason is almost a month, in length.

Still don't see how G-money cracks the rotation, let smart back up the 2 and give those minutes to Rozier. Green is a waste of time

I really don't think so Green played really good few years ago. They played fast and he played good. He has been working on his defense and teamed up with IT before.

Not really. A waste of time is watching Avery go down in the playoffs and being forced to watch players like James Young and RJ Hunter stink up the joint as we played absolutely abysmal offensively. So bad that they were both benched quickly and we were forced to play ultra small.
Sure Gerald won't have a huge part in this rotation. But getting a guy who has proven he can be a shooter in the league with solid athleticism isn't the worst thing to have on the end of the bench.

Eh idk. I honestly don't think the Knicks have that good of a chance. I'd prob replace them with Indiana?
IMO it's Cleveland obviously.
2-4 Is Toronto, Boston, Indiana. Think any of these 3 can realistically go to the ECF.
& I try not to be a homer, but both are very guard dependent with Lowry, DeRozan, & Teague, Ellis, George --- Which is best suited for us. Bradley, Crowder, Brown, Smart just locking up. Even if throw Rozier in there 5 mins a game just to full court press & run around & cause havok. So I think against them we'd be in a good position.
&& We'd all love to have Pierce back for 1 more go. Pierce for Young works in the trade checker? Maybe throw Jackson in there too idc. I hate that Pierce is in LAC. I get it it's home, but in Washington I loved him, Brooklyn I rooted for them. Just hard for me to watch him there.
