We'll know our 1st round opponent by 10PM on the 11th. At least four days to prep for that matchup.

Huh?
We've played the Heat 4x this season. Guess how many of those games we had both Al and Rob.
0.
Playoffs last year. During the 6 games where Rob was in the lineup, Bam averaged just 12 PPG. And this was Rob not nearly at 100% coming off knee surgery. And 1 of those 6 games, we didn't have Al.
How about we look at last year's regular season? That way, we get a larger sample size of games. And we see some games where rob was actually healthy. In 2 games, during last year's reg season where we had both Rob and Al, here's how many points Bam scored: 12 and 13.
So, between the 2022-2023 season and the 2021-2022 season (and including the 2022 playoffs), we have an 8 game sample size of Rob and Al facing the Heat. Bam is averaging 12 PPG in those games.
Spare me this "Bam can score at will against us" nonsense.
Hell, we won EASILY in miami earlier this season, when Rob was out and Noah Vonleh was our backup center.
Copy that mr. Green goggles.

Bam averaged 25pts easily in the 4 games this season against them. He literally can score at will. I don’t know what you are watching, but he’s been killin us this season.
Butler has been clutch against us. Trolling our team even.
I’m not saying we’ll lose to them, but those guys are scrappy, and they don’t seem to think we are better than them. They also have a better, more experienced coach. I don’t even know what we are getting from Joe this playoffs. If the Jays, particularly Jayson, doesn’t show up every game, then we can definitely lose to them. Rob definitely helps a ton if he’s playing, but we all know by now what to expect from him.

1-10 locked in the EC &, as Constable Zoya pointed out, we will know if the Heat or the Hawks are our R1 oppo by 2200 EST on Tuesday. None of the 8 games at 1300 EST tomorrow matter at all. Our Top 7 should not see the floor & 7 should apologize to vases everywhere.
5-9 still TBD in the WC. A couple of fun games with meaning to watch @ 1530 EST tomorrow while working out.

Again, we didn't have Rob and Al in the lineup for any of those 4 games.
Again, we've got an 8 game sample over the past 2 years (including playoffs) facing the Heat with Rob and Al. Bam has averaged 12 PPG in those games.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Oh ok. So now Rob and Al have to double Bam in order to hold him to 12pts???? Ok got it.

lol no. Pretty sure we never double team Bam. But in the games we've faced miami where we actually had our bigs healthy, he's only averaged 12 PPG.
The games Bam has scored lots of points came when we were shorthanded, with 1 or both of our bigs out. This isn't that complicated.

Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
Miami is tough. They are going to throw all sorts of zones and box Tatum left, right and center. Adebayo is a DPoY candidate protecting the rim and they have shooters everywhere. Jimmy Butler is also a dog, as is Lowry even though he is old as bricks. They will play a very physical game on us.
It’s basically the same guys that took us 7 last year. We are obviously better and they slipped a bit, but that’s as tough a 1st round matchup as you will get. Raptors, Nets, Hawks would all have been significantly easier.
Wouldn’t surprise me if round 1 was tougher than round 2.

I'll give you that. Miami could possibly give us a tougher series than Philly in round 2.

Lol. Bam scored at will against Rob. He can’t defend him single coverage. Rob ain’t great at defending the post. He is excellent at providing help defense though. Rob played 31mins, and Bam still scored 30 with 15rebs in 37mins.

I hope Trae gets the game of his life against the Heat.

Al didn't play in that game, though.
We had Griffin out there for 4 mins, Kornet played 14 mins. Justin jackson played 14 mins. Pritchard played 42 minutes lol. Why are we talking about this game? Not relevant at all to a potential playoff matchup vs miami, when we're gonna have all of our guys healthy.
We had no Al, no Smart, no Brogdon and no JB.
When we've actually been healthy, Bam has averaged 12 PPG during an 8 game sample over the past 2 years including playoffs).

I’ve come around to the idea of Miami now. Sure it will be by far the hardest series between our selves, Milwaukee and Philadelphia, but it will be so much more sweet to send those **** home than ATL etc.

Re: Celtics Remaining Schedule/Seeding Thread
The Heat will be a bear, but I do think that if we are healthy then our depth simply outlasts them.
I do think they're the toughest Round 1 matchup, for anyone. I'd much rather them play the Hawks. The physicality of the Bucks and Heat series last season clearly affected the Celtics by the middle to end of the Finals.
Hopefully Trae has one of his epic clutch road games where he can't miss.
