Yeah, that's sill the unfathomable part. Great they're doing it now, but why not then? I know the timing sucked, and not as many people were available, etc, but it's nuts they couldn't find anyone with some experience to replace 2 top tier coaches in a title run.

Initially not knowing how long Udoka was going to be suspended for must have played a role (along with the timing being so late).

Compare it to now, the Finals haven’t even finished and there are a heap of coaching staff hirings going on.

Yeah, I get all that and am mildly sympathetic. But we also lost Hardy in the summer not just Ime. And in plenty of time for a replacement. I think they did do a replacement later, iirc, but not a high level one.

EDIT: But, it's history now, so I'm just happy we brought in these 2 guys.

Even more reason why I'd like to see JJ Redick as the next assistant that we hire. Redick is feisty. Can definitely see him as someone who's not afraid to be tough and mean sometimes.

I don't think I've ever once been excited over assistant coach hires......Joe really got me out of character with how bad he is.

Read on Twitter

I implore the media to stop talking about the Celtics. Don't pump em up in any way. It's harder to underachieve when there are low expectations. Okay, maybe they're allowed to call us a play-in team next season. 2nd round exit at best.

Does anyone know if those assistants leaving for Houston ever actually became official?

This is the most recent thing I can find from a semi-legit source:

Do any of these new guys have the balls to get into JB's face when he turns the ball over the 3rd time in a quarter?

I doubt any coach can do anything about that, other than preach fast ball movement, and don’t try to iso dribble into traffic. Problem is, JT does that as well sadly.
