Has Nike offered him one billion dollars to be the face of the new wave of Jordan brand yet?

Plasticman! I can definitely see that.

I hope Walsh becomes a player comparable to Michael Cooper.

Augmon is a decent comp. Also Iguodala.

Yeah this kid reminds me a bit of Andre Iguodala (especially if his offensive game is as advertised so far) with a Rodman-like motor on the defensive side.

Let's see in 3-4 years how these guys do, but very early returns say this was a high value pick. We need more of these if we're going to overpay our top end talent. Past two years, Jays have had one of the best supporting cast (if not the best) in the league and Cs somehow need to maintain that unless Jays make another leap.

That's not a bad comp. I can see that, if he keeps working hard and gets enough of an opportunity.
And Cooper was one of the best role players and one of the best defenders of all time. So if Walsh can be that type of guy, man - that is a hell of a draft pick.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

It would be premature to the point of silliness to actually predict Walsh at Cooper or better -- but at least it's not a crazy goal. Cooper's hallmarks were ridiculously irritating man defense 1-4, non-embarrassing basic offensive skills (including as a backup PG), and plenty of athleticism to support all that. None of those is an impossible ask from Walsh.
And by the way -- Cooper was the 60th overall pick, and surely one of the few NBA 3rd-round picks who's still talked about today.

C’mon we all know the right second round comp for Jordan Walsh is Khris Middleton. Just a matter of time at this point

Maybe not for awhile, but I have a feeling Brad will encourage him to. Or else block his feed of “The Town.”
And/or Cassell could get in Joe’s ear about giving Walsh some burn.

If he is NBA ready, he likely rides the pine for half a season with many trips to Maine before getting worked into rotation.

haha. I don't see why not. Obviously we have our top 7 guys set in stone.
And obviously Hauser has to be the favorite for that 8th spot. After that, I think the battle for minutes is pretty wide open. You've got Brissett and Pritchard in the mix. You've got Kornet, who will likely only play if 1 of our top 3 bigs is out. At this point, I don't see Banton competing for rotation mins - that could change, but at this moment I'd say he's an end of the bench guy - as is Champagnie, but there's a good chance he'll get waived.
I think Walsh could certainly be in that mix, competing for minutes with Brissett and Pritchard for that 9th spot, with the outside chance to maybe even steal mins from Hauser in that 8th spot. Hauser, Brissett and Pritchard obviously have more NBA experience so they will likely start off higher on the depth chart. But it's a long season, depth will be needed..

Yep, we've been saying it since day 1. Or day -90 with the draft as day zero. I legit think he can / should / will get minutes. Agree Hauser/PP are the incumbents, but displaceable. Kornet is injury/rest only, which will happen plenty, but doesn't count as an additional spot in the rotation. I agree Banton is end of bench for now.
Brissett and Walsh will probably come down to shooting/mistakes. Whoever maximizies/minimizes those will play more. But at least one will play. Brissett assumedly starts a tiny bit ahead, but could be overtaken.
I'd love Joe to go 10-11 in the regular season and they'd both get consistent minutes. But, I'm not holding my breath.

Let Zinger run with the bench.
Brogs/PP/Hauser/Walsh/Zinger. Four dudes that can shoot, perfect compliment.

I haven't quite gotten to really thinking thru rotations yet, tbh. I feel like it might be more Tatum/Al bench units. But, I do like the idea of not staggering the Jays. Brogdon obviously gonna be one of the big scoring threats if here/healthy, so him/Zinger could definitely support a lineup.
If we'd struck earlier for a vet min PG (Joseph), you could have let Pritchard go (via trade). Now, there's not much. George Hill? As long as at least ONE of White/Brogs is available, that works. Good vet to have too. But you don't wanna rely on him much.
Anyways, enough derailing. Walsh just needs to play. Investment in him getting time, knowing the schemes and shooting open shots, maybe a few drives of closeouts will pay off. He's thrown some godawful passes this SL already, but he's overplaying any kind of role he'll have on the big club, so that's fine. Just limit those mistakes, lock down on D and don't be afraid to pull the trigger and he'll be super-useful.
