I love that this is now sticky'd
Mavs lose to Clippers, not too surprising with no DWIll, Matthews, and Parsons. If you take a look at the WC I count 6 teams that I'd say are locks for the playoffs barring injury: LAC, OKC, GSW, SAS, MEM,HOU. Not sold on the Pelicans I know they have injury issues, more than likely they will make the playoffs but I don't consider them a lock. So that leaves DEN, DAL, LAL, SAC, PHX, UTA, POR, MIN fighting for a spot potentially 2 if the Pels or another team has issues. I really don't see why Minnesota couldn't be in that mix, seems like Denver could sell off more parts this year. SAC I think will be ok but won't do anything major, same with PHX. I expect Portland to be bad but they won their first game against a depleted Pels convincingly. I think Utah will def be a contender they played well last year we shall see how it translates over. Dallas I don't see in the fight I think they will end up right around where we need them to. Minny seems to have a shot IMO at being in the playoffs or right there which is exactly what we need.
Here is where I might get a little controversial but I'm pulling for the lakers to win this year....hear me out. So the Lakers keep their pick if it's in the top 3, that could mean they bump Brooklyn out of a top 3 pick for us/even if we got the pick in front of them it doesn't give us as much of an edge over them. I also don't want them to finish in the top 10, does anyone else want Philly to get another top 10 pick? Lakers won't win in the playoffs even if they made it, so I'm all for them having some mild success this year.
Long season but I certainly think Minny really does have a chance, they play against Denver tonight.
Brooklyn in San Antonio tonight, have to imagine Spurs take this one and improve Brooklyn to 0-2
