I love everything but the inclusion of Brown or Crowder. Rather give up Bradley.

1 BK pick is more than enough value for a 1 year rental, in my estimation. If were giving up both BK picks + more than one of Smart/Brown/Crowder I definitely don't like it.

Damn, Deadmik's tweet about how Cleveland will be scared come Monday may hold true after all.

Two of my sources have confirmed different parts of this and I am putting it together. And a third added a little credence as well. Here goes...

The Celtics are trying to go big. They want both Griffin and Westbrook. They would rather do it with agreements to stay in Boston but are willing to do it without those guarantees. So here is what the basic pieces in and out would be:

Boston gets: Blake Griffin, Paul Pierce and Russell Westbrook.

Boston gives to LAC: Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller (S&T for 1 guaranteed year at around ~$6.5 million, just enough for salary matching) and 1 BRK pick + another first rounder (LAC pick back maybe?) and/or Jaylen Brown.

Boston gives to OKC: Marcus Smart, Jonas Jerebko, R.J. Hunter, Jordan Mickey, James Young + 1 BRK pick + another 1st Rounder or two (future BOS 1st and/or MEM 1st).

If LAC would rather, Boston will give up Crowder, but would prefer not to.

And they would then fill out their bench with veteran FAs. If Crowder goes in the LAC deal (which would also remove Zeller but include Holland), then Brown stays and Pierce starts with Brown backing him up. The Celtics like the idea of splitting Thomas and Westbrook to start games, but they would play plenty together.

Putting it all together:

We know the Griffin/Westbrook parts. The interesting part I got today from a different source was many of the veteran FAs who remain unsigned are waiting because their agents believe this is happening and they want to be the guys to fill out the Boston roster. Think some familiar names. Maybe some guys who recently wore the green.

Surprised they're willing to deal both BKN picks, Smart and maybe Brown.. Westbrook/IT, Bradley, Crowder, Griffin, Horford, + Pierce, Olynyk and vets off the bench..

Not a fan. That's sticker price for possible rentals of flawed stars and the team that's left over has no chips left to keep getting better, doesn't totally fit, and only wins a championship with great coaching.

Also, I should have added this:

I am in no way saying this is happening 100% or anything. I'm just sharing what I have heard. What got my interest piqued was hearing about the vet FAs. That part hadn't really entered my thinking much.

In order to go to Twitter, which will get picked up mainstream, I have to be able to confirm through multiple independent sources who are rock solid. And it can't be second or third hand. I have to get it from people who are 100% in the know.

The guys I have heard from are:

1. First hand knowledge
2 - 4. Second hand knowledge

Does that make sense? Plus, at this point I could end up outing a source I don't want to out. That would mean a sure loss of a source for me.

That definitely makes sense. I wonder you could answer this (for us normal fans out there)

1. First Hand Knowledge (Would an example of this be someone who works in the C's front office/trade partner front office)
2. Second hand Knowledge- Scouts, Agents, people who work for outside teams?

Would love to know this since I don't think it really could hurt your source. Seems pretty shocking we could get both players without Crowder + AB so I'm a bit skeptical.

No unless Westbrook and Griffin sign extensions.

And even then, I'm not at all confident that those pieces fit together.

Then there's Griffin's injury.

And the fact that both Westbrook and IT need the ball in their hands to be effective.

Piece starting at his age? .....Are you nuts?

This is just so wrong on so many levels.

This isn't just selling the farm for a flashy new sports car. It's burning it down and running the flashy sports car into the nearest telephone pole!

No thanks!

Take Jaylen out of the first deal, take Smart or the BKN pick out of the second.

And, personal opinion, you guys who think giving up both Brooklyn picks to get Russ and Blake is too much are nuts. 100% nuts. There is about a 1% chance either of the BRK picks becomes better than Russ or Blake. You would have to convinced they aren't staying to consider that too much.

Smart would do well in OKC. He scores a ton of points whenever he's in that building.

Smitty are you able to confirm a meeting IS happening or not? If so is it today? Don't want you giving out things you can't.

Also I read part 3 to mean Bass lol

1) I thought they were going for the juggular. Trader Danny activated.

2) Not even have to give up IT? Sign me up.

3) Thank you for doing this. Seriously. You rock.
