Right now he is still in the development era but with some hard work he could develop into an inside force. Danny Ainge if you read these forums this little piece of advice could help assist you in the Celtic Resurrection. Thanks

Who was the big man coach we had during Perkins's early years? That guy had a big role in developing Kendrick. We should get him back for Tacko.

Clifford Ray, and yes, he'd be a good coach to add to the team. Or just hire him as a consultant to work with the C's big men.

From Wikipedia:

"After his playing career, Ray worked as an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks in 1987. He also coached in the Continental Basketball Association, where he landed his first head coaching job with the Fort Wayne Fury, replacing former teammate Rick Barry as head coach at the end of the season. Later, he worked as a New Jersey Nets assistant before returning to Golden State as an assistant coach. He also worked as an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic and from 2005 to 2010 was an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics, who won an NBA championship in 2008. He was hired by the Sacramento Kings in 2012.[3]

On June 5, 2013, new Kings coach Michael Malone announced that the 2012–13 assistant coaches would not be retained for the 2013–14 season.[4] In 2016, Coach Ray was hired by the Houston Rockets as a consultant.[5]"

Danny just said he's been in town working out, and that he has a shot at making the roster.

Wishful thinking. With Danny's current heart condition and age there's no way he makes the team.

Tom Westerholm

Danny Ainge on Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall: ‘He’s a high priority for us’ to develop

“Tacko is fun to watch,” Ainge said. “He makes me laugh. Some of the plays he makes are hilarious because you just don’t see them. Guards get in a bind, and they just throw the ball up in the air, then Tacko grabs them and makes tip-toe dunks from under the basket. It’s just like a senior in high school playing against fourth graders sometimes out there.”

Boston has a full roster spot open, but both two-way slots are reportedly spoken for in Max Strus and Tremont Waters. The Celtics could simply sign Fall to a minimum contract, or they could guarantee Tremont Waters’ deal after an impressive Summer League performance to reopen one of their two-way slots, which would give them an opportunity to bring Fall on for the season.

Fall is currently on an Exhibit 10 deal with the Celtics, which means he can stay with the team through training camp.

“He’s a great kid,” Ainge said. “He’s working really hard. We want to take his development very, very seriously. He’s a high priority for us to try to really develop into a player.”

^^^^ It's not a matter of whether they'll sign Fall, just how (2 way or regular roster) and when.

Danny mentioned about papers and works to be done. Will it be a problem signing Tacko to a much longer deal?

I would think so considering we introduced Kanter. I assume that means Kanter has been signed. The exceptions are gone and the cap space is gone. 2 year minimum deal seems like the only route possible (for a regular contract).

I believe you can waive two-way players whenever you'd like, so they could wave Strus if they needed to give Tacko a two-way contract. It would be best to keep Water, Strus, and Tacko all together.

Is there any way if the Celtics drag their feet that another team could come in and sign him? They don't have his draft rights obviously, but do they have any sort of first refusal now because of the Exhibit 10 contract?

The Celtics have the exclusive right to sign him until the regular season starts.

That's how I read it, as well.
He becomes a Free Agent, if we don't sign him to either a Regular NBA, or a Two-Way contract, by the Beginning of the Regular Season.
