Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I don't think there's much (i.e. any) new reporting in this "Windy" Windhorst piece. But it's an interesting rehash of what we already knew.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37607007/nba-playoffs-2023-driven-fear-boston-celtics-found-way-survive-game-6-philadelphia-76ers

It became clear that the bulk of the Celtics' roster had desired, behind the scenes, for the team to go back to the big lineup it rode to the NBA Finals last spring.

Call it whatever you want: relenting, acquiescing or breaking; Mazzulla made a hard pivot and tossed his game plan away. And his players, after saying who knows what behind closed doors, loved him for it.

And again:

-- The players rooted hard for White to be booted out of the starting lineup, even if that was just a side effect of what they were focused on.
-- White has been off recently anyway.
-- So White probably needs some bucking up.
-- This feels like a solvable problem.

3rd time in 4 years that Boston and Miami meet in the conference finals. I wonder how often two teams have met in the conference finals 3 times in 4 tries ?

I think it's better to not have losses at all if they can be avoided.

True! Point being though that Boston has been better across the board in this series despite two close losses. Very similar to last year's Milwaukee series in fact.

Ken Pomeroy the famed college hoops analytics guy reviewed data at one point - basically saying in-game leads were even more predictive of future winners than final records or net +/-.

IOW what happens in the bulk of the games is much more predictive for the future than the last minutes are. And while they could def blow it they are in a similar situation to last year's Bucks series, in a tight series with a very good team where they are the demonstrably better performing team. Last year that won them the Eastern conference and I think it will again this year as well - at least based on the best overall info we currently have.

Since Stevens was hired as Celtics coach, the Cs have had the 2nd most playoff games and 2nd most playoff wins behind the Warriors. #3, #5, and #6 on the list all won one title each.

We need a title. It’s time.

Well, the NBA touts it's stars, but after gushing about Tatum's 51 points in game 7, let's not forget Marcus Smart's season saving performance in game 6. Without Smart, the whole team would have gone fishin'.

Not sure what this means, but:

Home Record: 10-9 *Two home gm 7 wins
Away Record: 12-6 *One road gm 7 win, two road gm 6 wins down 3-2 in series.

5 guys nominated for the Kareem Abdul Jabbar award for social justice contributions. 1 of them is a Celtic. And it isn't Jaylen.

It isn't Brogdon either.

The only “elephant in the room” narrative in the league right now seems to be the one pushing for Lebron to get another ring and the aid from the refs that not so suspiciously has come with it. I’m kinda surprised there isn’t more about us going for a ring the season after Bill Russell’s passing with all teams having his patch and number on their court.

Keep an eye on Celtics assistant coaches Aaron Miles and Ben Sullivan and Nets assistant coach Royal Ivey to be courted by the Rockets as candidates for Udoka’s staff, league sources told HoopsHype.

The Celtics are also a team to monitor for Vogel, along with former Rockets coach Stephen Silas, who’s also drawn interest from several NBA teams.

Would love Vogel and Silas, hope we don't lose Ben Sullivan, the guy who fixed Derrick's hot
