Awesome to see Rico get is game going. I particularly like seeing those passes. He has good court vision.

His ability to handle, run offense, and read defenses were why I was high on him preseason and thought he'd be able to crack the rotation right away. But his role on the big club is so so different that these qualities won't really show up. Cs also don't run a free-flowing, pass-heavy, motion offense where his skills would maybe stand out more. He'd be fun to watch on the Pacers, Cavs, or Thunder.

Sure but it still shows he can drive a closeout and make the right reads out of that which is a major part of what is asked from the Celtics perimeter players (unless you are a Hauser level shooter in which case you don't really need to put the ball on the floor).

My point is, Baylor can still be traded for Romeo Langford and a pick swap in a couple of years.

Mazzulla says they like that Scheierman's getting the reps with the Maine Celtics, just getting used to playing (almost) every night unlike in college when it's just once a week or whatever. And learning the things he needs to learn about playing Celtics basketball.
There's just no real need for him to spend time with the big club right now. Walsh is also ahead of him in seniority (not necessarily age, but NBA experience and time in the league). So I guess the reports (speculations, really) of Baylor potentially replacing Hauser have been greatly exaggerated.

Hauser replacement talk aside, do you think there is a scenario this year when Baylor gets some minutes with Sam?
Like, when a game has been decided and the Garden crowd is still rockin'. Think of a line up of Scheierman, Pritchard, Hauser, Walsh, and Queta. The fans and the starters would love it I think.
Ball zipping on the perimeter with three shooters, Neemy getting the lobs, Walsh crashing in from the weak side. Payton going ham, Slam Hauser.
And Rico? He'd be setting up the plays as one of the primary ball handlers with PP. Get a chance to work on his defense at NBA level too.
