I may be reading too much into this, but i'm thinking austin rivers.

Well, my guess is Frank stumbled into Doc Rivers based on the hints.

Also: If the Celts trade #21/22 into late-lottery to pick Austin Rivers, that will immediately become the most polarizing Celts trade ever.

Fwiw, if Doc/Danny are behind Austin, so am I. If he flourishes, it would make for one heck of a story. If his mini-kobe persona sans the world-class length and athleticism fails, well, the post games shall be epic.

Doc lives next to Dwight, no?

I took that as a Dwight subliminal. Lol. Maybe I'm reaching, idk.

Doc's going to the draft tonight with his son so he's in the NY/NJ area.

Frank - can you at least hint that you're excited about a player we're getting in the draft or is it already a player in the league?

Also - reading between the lines I'd say he spoke with Doc himself.

Love this time of the year. :)

Austin Rivers does not make me "excited and giddy".

I will say this the name Dwight Howard did not come up. I think I'm excitement is over the fact that I know the Cs are trying to make moves, they are trying to move up in the draft and they are trying to improve the team not only for next season but for seasons to come. I have a good feeling that KG will not be back and I feel that the powers that be knows this. It's going to be an exciting day for the Cs. Now I'm not sure how excited everyone on this board will be with the moves that they make but I for one did not talk about Dwight Howard. I'm going to leave it like that.

he said he the guy has all the celts players on his cell, and one of the kid's in the draft too (Austin). And then even said...glad hes our coach, oops.

Sounds like he ran into Doc this morning. But why would Doc give away any info to anybody???

If Rondo goes out in moves that land us Howard, we still have enough cap room to land Deron and maybe keep some of our FAs as well.

Perhaps KG would feel compelled to take short money for one last run with a stacked team. Maybe even Ray as well, given what Miami is offering.

FRANKly, - pun intended - same here. However, that would make Doc kinda excited don't you think? Who would he want to play for him more than his own son?

Hard to see him getting enough development time here with Bradley and Rondo in town.

I just don't think Doc wants to coach him right now. It opens him and Austin up to too many questions and issues.

Doc is the most cordial person you'll ever meet. Shakes your hand with BOTH of his, and is very emphatically inclined when fans come up to him.

Best coach ever? Maybe....best coach of the next generation.....hell yes.

And BOOM goes the DYNAMITE!!!!

He didn't give away information away to just anybody, he was talking to Frank Lucas...lol....yea I will say this it was Doc Rivers I was talking to. He is going to be headed out to New York later in the day to be with Austin and the family. He was being coy with me at first but he notice I wasn't a reporter trying to get any inside scoop and I told him my son is a big fan of Austin Rivers (which he is).

We talk about the draft and I told him what I thought he should do with the team. He said some stuff with me not a lot but he give me some insight into what they was thinking. I said something that made him smile really big and get was on his phone texting (I assumed Danny Ainge) but I'm not going to share what he told me because everyone is a blogger now but just thanks him for some information and that got be giddy and excited for tonight.

I think i recall doc saying that if austin is there and DA doesn't pick him, there'll be a fight for sure but ultimately it will be Danny's call. Doesn't sound like he doesn't want to coach his son at all.

Not saying I don't believe Frank, but I doubt Doc is running around telling people their plans. This will be my 10th draft on RealGM and this stuff never comes to fruition. Doesn't mean I don't love it though so keep it coming. I am a dreamer but I'd say Danny will most likely end up using both picks and at the day and even that gets me excited. Anything beyond that will be icing on the cake.
