With NO signing Evans in the offseason, they now have $37 Mil tied up with three guards. Considering they traded for their PG and signed Evans to a free agent deal this offseason, Eric Gordon is clearly the odd man out.
For NO to trade Gordon, I think it starts with a starting quality SF first and foremost. They could also use a true Center as Davis and others playing that position for NO are really PF's.
We have two starting quality SF's in Wallace and Green. NO has a young team and could use the veteran presence of a guy like Wallace. His salary is quite a bit lower than Gordon's , so we'd have to add a young guy like Victor to make the CBA happy and we'd likely have to add a first round draft pick too.
So I would propose a trade of Wallace, Victor, and maybe the LAC 2015 1st rounder for Gordon.
If Gordon could stay healthy, that would be a steal for us. If he doesn't, he's still only 25 yrs old and would have some value regardless.
The Pelican's would get a starting SF for the next 3 years, have a young Center to play with Davis and a 1st round pick in 2015. Oh, and they'd save $13 Mil or so in salary over the next 3 years.
