The Mavs aren't finishing bottom 7 unless they win the lottery.

Dallas re-signs Villanueva.

Deandre Jordan leaves Dallas.

Best of all possible worlds is Dallas absorbing Joe Johnson into their cap space to make an ill-fated playoff push that lands them in the 8-14 range of the draft while knocking BK down into the bottom 10.

The picks owed have gone through some pretty home-run style developments. Brooklyn was supposed to be a perennial playoff contender and contend to sign Durant. Now unless they trade or stretch DWill, they barely have a single max contract to offer next summer.

Dallas just imploded after looking like a really solid summer.

And let's not forget that by the time Memphis' pick rolls around in most likely 2019 (it's top 8 that year, then top 6 the next, then unprotected the next), the current key roster pieces will have the following ages:

M. Gasol - 34
Randolph - 37
Tony Allen - 37
M. Conley - 31
C. Lee - 33

Gasol and Conley will probably still be able to play, but the entire rest of the team will essentially have to be re-made around older core guys without two future firsts available. If those two guys don't age well, that MEM pick will be very solid as well.

Can we just simulate to the end of this season?

Didn't realize TA was old as Randolph. Weird. But ya that pick is looking nice

Can we trade Lee to the Mavs if they lower the protection from 1-5 ? I would definitely to that.

The Nets are going to be horrible. I'm not counting out a bottom 3 finish.

Trade away JJ and/or Williams then injury to Lopez (who has no decent backup). This might just happen.

I mean they are already going to be horrible with no more moves as is.

Williams/Jack
Bogdanovic/Ellington
Johnson/Hollis-Jefferson
Young/Robinson
Lopez/Clark

Is bad. It's not Knicks or Philly bad, but it's really really bad. Then if they go and trade Deron and Joe Johnson for salary relief? It's going to get ugly.

I kind of agree and am kind of fascinated to see if Brad can continue to pull rabbits out of his hat. Can't wait to see what the other picks are though.

If the Mavs are tanking why would they trade a 2nd rounder for Zaza Pachulia? He's a solid veteran defender. Why not just take a shot on some random FA big man and hold on to your picks if you're planning to tank?

To me this plus maxing Wes Matthews is a sign they're not looking to tank. More clues in the next few days I'm sure.

Wow, was going to mention that as a trade possibility for Dallas because of their hole at PG! If that happens Nets don't give a damn about next years draft as much as avoiding the luxury tax bill.

Seriously. Have to hope that Brooklyn has to pay a lot of the freight, limiting their options for next year.

Looks good all around though.
