Always thought there was no chance of this happening. Your thoughts?

Zero percent chance. If Danny is holding out for KD, then he's wasting his time. Better shot at landing Ingram and hoping he's the next Durant.

I Agree, and I say this as someone who wants to see Kevin Durant on the Celtics.

For sure, guys, I've been saying for years there is no chance, even with another star here (FWIW I think we have a small chance at Westbrook if Durant stays).

Just wanted to know what ddb has been hearing from his connects.

Houston, Atlanta and Chicago are screwed. They may retain their free agents, but at what price? Sacramento did nothing to improve, so they are still pathetic. Brooklyn did nothing, which is great news. Who cares about teams like Washington, Memphis and Phoenix rearranging deck chairs on the titanic? Detroit looks better on paper, but frankly Tobias Harris is vastly overrated.

Happy Danny Ainge didn't do a panic trade. Ainge will be armed and ready come draft time and free agency. I'm ready to go to war with this Celtics team. Playoffs are going to be fun!

For those complaining about a lack of a deal I'll ask you who were the top players traded?

Frye, Stephenson, T Harris, Jeff Green?

It's going to be tough to get team to trade quality players with the salary cap going through the roof. Teams can keep the player and still add a max player. This lack of activity is what I expected.

I honestly don't see how he can get him without trading for a star player first . I want Kevin Durant on the Celtics too, but I don't see a way Danny Ainge signs him.

Afam, how many stars were traded at the trade deadline?

I'll give you a hint: 0

Would you trade 3, 4 or 5th pick in this draft for Cousins, Anthony Davis ,Griffin etc ? . The answer would be no. Our only valuable assets are those Nets picks . We have to hope they're top 1,2 to be able to use them to land a star player.

I know we are all still reeling from only being able to land Ray Allen with the #5 pick.

By the way I have been doing non stop cartwheels all afternoon knowing I don't have to watch Dwight Howard in a Celtics uniform.

I am just going to pretend that we traded for the Brooklyn picks, Dallas pick, and eight seconds to justify the hours spent. Great deadline!!

When David Lee gets bought out I would like to see the Celtics add a young big who rebounds. Maybe we should have a buyout topic?

Well they tried but no one wanted to play ball for a reasonable price... at least according to Bulpett who I think is the most tuned-in Celtics writer at this point:

http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/celtics/2016/02/bulpett_celtics_already_planning_on_how_to_improve_roster_this_summer

According to Herald sources, the Celtics did check on the availability of just about every major star, which is par for the course for most teams -- though in the case of the C’s they had the currency in picks and players to lessen the ‘are-you-kidding-me?’ factor.

Said one league exec, “It’s like they took the All-Star roster and used it as Match.com.”

In addition to those in the highest constellation, the Celts also looked into players such as Brooklyn’s Thaddeus Young. There was a report the C’s were talking about a three-team deal with Cleveland and New Orleans that would have netted them Kevin Love, but no such negotiations took place.

On to the rest of the season!
