That's going to be a major no from me dawg

Hayward I get.
Horford, def understand.
Kyrie, sure.

But young dudes like Tatum, averaging 32-33 mpg?? What's the logic there? Injury?

It’s about being able to keep the players fresher when they do play so they can give maximum effort for greater periods of time.

I don't understand why people want us to burn out players with 36 or 37 mpg in the regular season.

Look at what the Spurs have done over the years and how that allowed them to remain at the top for 15 years. That's the way to go. Keep everyone below the 32-33 mpg for the most part.

I don't think anyone on this team should be going over 30 mins much, during the regular season.
We're deep enough to keep everyone fresh for the Playoffs.

Sure we are deep... but no one is better than Tatum on that bench. How do you justify a 20 year old future star not getting over 30 mpg? KD was playing 39 min every season throughout his 20's.

20 year old stars are different man. Timmy played 40 mpg when he was 25.

It's not necessary.

We have to keep 20 year olds fresh? I get if we are blowing teams out, sure. Sit the starters. I remember the Dubs were getting 20 pt leads by halftime and giving the starters most of the second half off. I get that. But tight games, Tatum has to be out there.

Would love to see Williams tonight. Especially since Theis looks a shadow of his form last year.

Agree to disagree I guess. I trust Brad's judgement, but just my opinion.

Yeah, Williams is more closely built like Baynes, than anyone else on the team.

...based on the 18 minutes he’s played on the year...

When Theiss went down last year, it is somewhat understated how good he was playing. I preferred him at that time to Baynes. It’s going to take some time to get his legs back under him, but he is a guy you want on the court now to get back up to speed.

Yes that was last year before a major knee injury. He may never be that guy again. He looks almost 40 years old out there for the time being. He'll get mins, would just like to see Williams out there for a stretch..

He tore his meniscus. That is hardly a "major" knee injury. You can't seriously think he is done based on the limited playing time he has had. It's called rust. Same reason why Kyrie hasn't looked great.

That was 15 years ago. Times have changed. Kawhi never played more than 33 minutes per game with the Spurs.

I have no idea how's he going to look this year. No one does. I'm not saying he's going to get benched, just that RWill should get some burn..

Tatum looked at lot better versus the depleted Knicks.

But still didn't shoot many 3s (at least he hit 2/3) and had 4 turnovers to zero assists.

Love what he's doing, just waiting for him to put it all together in a manner that allows him to at least the great 3 point % and 1:1 ass:trn ratio he average last year.

It will be tougher for him this season to do so for sure since he's been given a large chunk of ISOs but this is apart of the growth.

The Magic wings are just another example of a league that's adjusted to modern time. (also all the good teams have great wing defenders that makes ISO offense stupid). Tatum won't have an easy time just ISOing every play against a Gordon, Simmons, or Issac. We need team play and ball movement to get their feet moving so we can just attack.

Game 4, let's see if this is the first complete efficient offensive performance from our boy when he's not facing Philly.

With Irving, Hayward, and Horford to pull the defenders away and set him up he should.

Love the rebounding totals from last game, not sure it felt like he got that many but it was the Knicks and it was hard for me to get up for it after watching the Raptors so I was more casually watching it than normal.

I hear you man. And I'm def overreacting too early in the season. But that Knicks game bothered me. Tatum was a +19 in that game. Had Brad played him a bit longer, I think that game gets out of hand in the 4th and we'd have our stars sitting to end the game, rather than playing in a tight game down the stretch. Ugh. I have to keep reminding myself it's just the 3rd game haha.
