Can't even be mad at him. But I also won't wish him good luck. ;)

Ain't no one mad. This was all about Al wanting to show up Ainge. Al has made plenty of ******* money in this league. If he really cared about Boston and his teammates then he would of put his ego aside and been more patient with the process.

I was among the first on his bandwagon when first acquired and biggest cheerleader I'm done with him bro.

I'm not saying you can't be mad, but you sound mad.

I love Al. Wish he stayed, but i get it. Good player and a good person. Hate that philly has him, but i don't worry about players switching teams. That is immature crap. 33 years old get $109 m? god bless.

Wonder what we can do at C.

It’s bittersweet that Al Hordford is gone, but super overpaid. It’s going to be a questionable season for Celtics.....

100%.

In the same way some trades are disrespectful to players, signing with a rival is disrespectful to fans/teams. There was money on the table at other teams (Kings for example).

Celtics fans here were saying Horford would renegotiate and sign for a cheap per-year deal, not make the Celtics pay him $30 million in the last year of his deal.

Guess Ainge must have expected that too, like under $20 million a year for 3 years?

Horford probably felt insulted.

Love Al. He has the right to do whatever is best for him. As long as it's not the Lakers no hard feelings.

Perhaps. It should have been clear he is not going to opt out of 30 to take 3/60. I would assume Ainge would offer 3/75 or so but can understand being reluctant after it was clear Kyrie bailed.

I think moving on from Horford is best for all really at this point.

I can see a lot of reasons Al would've soured on staying here after this year the way his contract years unfolded without ever getting that contending squad. If you're Horford you know what the pitch was when you signed in Boston and your FO didn't deliver it on your timetable.....but it also ended it with a total nightmare. Old guys who understand their mortality don't have time to waste with that bull**** and there is an urgency to get where you need to go now, not lets wait out another deadline type stuff. thats fine for team building but old man aint got them years to wait. plus everyone on this team had a personal agenda, why not Al too?

In any event not mad we're not paying that, it is what it is. Philly will be an interesting experiment as always but they have bad karma coming for decades, one way or another they ain't winning ****.

Will miss Al. Won't miss his shadow and her annoying tweets tho.

also kind of funny now that we thought he would opt out for rozier money lol

Imo opinion was the best Celtic the last few years. Wish we could have kept him, but not sure about that 4th year. All the best for him in Philly.

Well I don’t appreciate him going to the Sixers if this is what this thread is all about.

I'll wait on this opinion. The last story I read was that once they were able to make the Kemba deal a sign and trade, the Celtics then pushed hard to keep Horford with their Bird rights. So we'll wait and see when the smoke clears and what was offered. If they offered roughly the same deal, then people better be prepared to take the truth over a nice story

Good luck Al. Hope you go 0-82 every season, no offense. Get that check, but also hope you lose every game for the rest of your Sixers career.

He didn't fit into the restrictions of the Celtics salary cap structure, can't hate on that. He fit into a team that had tons of capspace and he took the bag. And the Sixers are probably the best team in the East right now (assuming Kawhi leaves), Good financial life move, good career move.

If Al doesn't leave, Kemba doesn't come to Boston, so dunno how anyone can hold anything against Horford.

Good for Al. Who cares where he goes? He went where he thinks he can win.

Lol so what? He did nothing to any of us..So in order for us to be okay with Al's departure, e has to make a list of all teams that don't rival the Celtics, and that fans won't want him to go to so they can be okay with his departure?

Al owes us nothing, he can go wherever he wants, and I think anyone disowning him because of this needs to just remember..it isn't personal. Let's toughen up here. This kind of fandom and investment is obnoxious
