Mark Bartelstein client. Just like Gordon Hayward and Bradley Beal. ;)

Guess this is the room exception and the end of the S&T dream? Or, at least the 12th or 13th end. We may have a few more zombie scenarios left...

I think we're done. Just bring back Theis and sign a vet. That's 14 spots.
Just when I was falling in love with my Meyers Leonard scenario. The Cody Zeller one is a bit sketchy. Dunno if it'll work.

1. Sign Terry.
2. Sign Kanter.
3. Have ~$12M left for your big trade.
4. Continue.

I can't imagine they could have done better with no money. I'm perfectly fine with the signing.

Honestly, great signing at this point. Not sure how Danny pulled this off. Kanter is a walking double double machine.

For the amount of shooters we have, we needed a rebounder. I remember few years ago, he was moving Baynes around like it was nothing. Baynes couldn’t keep him off the glass.

He was really good with Portland last season as well, both as a bench player and as a starter.

I asked about what kind of teammate he is on the GB, and so far most people are saying that he was an amazing teammate who falls in love with the city he is playing for. After Kyrie, that sounds like a breath of fresh air. Kind of sounds like our next Baynes!!

You may want to close your eyes for this one:

In defensive RPM, Kanter ranked 70th among 71 centers last season. 52nd among 59 centers in 2017-18, and 49th among 51 centers in 2016-17.

We'll just have to take the good with the bad. Find a way to mitigate his weaknesses through scheming and surrounding personnel.

I don't disagree with this post at all lol, but to be fair, some guys in the thread made are calling Kanter a steal for what we got him for. 13/8 last year and 14/10 the year before is nothing to sneeze at, the only thing is Kanter apparently doesn't shoot 3s. Not sure of his midrange game, but if he has that, that's pretty solid offensively.

Why all the hate? Did you guys see what he did with portland? One thing Kanter will do is leave it all out there. Plus hes a helluva rebounder. You guys are going to be surprised how much he will bring

most people know he is pathetic on defense so we all hope for good rebounding and garbage buckets.

Kanter has a ton of heart. Boston is going to love him. Defense will be a problem and I don’t like that’s it’s a player option for year 2 instead of a team option. But I guess that’s what they had to do in order to get him signed.

I just had a friend (Nets fan, actually) text me telling me how much he loved our offseason given the situation we are. I think our success simply hinges on our young guys improving. Ainge clearly COULD have gotten a big fish via trade but pretty clearly thinks highly of Brown and Tatum.

Let's have some fun, boys.

I didn't think he was a realistic option, so I'll eat some crow now. He's a great fit and is an outstanding value if we are signing him with the room exception.

I agree. We were atrocious in interior offense and rebounding. He's bringing both.

I will learn to love this signing/player. If I did it with Moose Monroe, I can do it with Kanter.

We did ask for a 'Stache Brother. We just got the cheaper one. :D No, but seriously he brings to the table no one on the roster could. Our best individual rebounder since Sully?

Embiid has never scored 30 against him, as 29 was his game high. Kanter had 31 points as his game high vs. Embiid.

In comparison, Embiid's game high against Horford was 37 points. This is really why Danny let Al walk and signed Kanter.

That doesn't bother me too much tbh, cause it means we have a stopgap of at least two years to get someone else. Or, Robert Williams III actually develops into something. But Kanter for now is fine.

Theis is a restricted free agent, and I'd be surprised if any team offered him more than the veterans minimum. His production hasn't been high enough yet.
