The Celtics do need a stretch big man. Theis could still be in the mix that way, or if a trade shakes up the roster. As it stands now with Kanter, Robert Williams and Poirier signed, things look kinda negative for a Theis return.

Plus Tacko could play his way on to the team.

I think Celts would have renounced him if they didn’t want him back. Of all our bigs who can play, Theis is only legit shot blocker and 3 pt threat. RW may not be ready and Poirier has played in SL and been pretty pedestrian there.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

We probably do need more depth at the 4 spot, and Theis can defend 4's more readily than 5's. Shoots it well enough to play the 4 too.

Nobody ever called Batum, Gobert, Parker or Diaw “the French” anybody.

I hope “the French” isn’t code for can’t play in NBA.

He is way more proven then Sekou, Ntlikina or Yabusele, these guys werent and still arent Euroleague caliber, this guy is rock solid Euroleague player. I would call him French Steven Adams, I dont see much qualities Steven Adams does at 24 mil a year that Poirier doesnt at minimum. He is amazing rebounder and knows how to play physical. I think he is definitely better than Theis if you can compare them.

I just hope Williams doesn't get buried with these more experienced, center-only mediocrities coming in.

I want Kanter and Poirier dunking on Embiid's head, and Timelord packing his **** every time he shoots. Hey, a guy can dream.

America need to realize quickly that any player playing the Euroleague and performing as much as Poirier did is enough to never thinking about making him play SL!
The level of competition that he's used to play is 100 times better than the best G-League team has.

But the reason why he will not play SL is because he will be playing the World Cup with France this summer and the groupe stage before the competition starts soon

Ahhh. I see.
I didn't think that he needed to play SL. Was just wondering if he would.

Welcome to Boston VP!

Good move. Now we are big. Just got two 6’12 centers in the last two days with very little cap space.

I’m excited. This should be a fun, deep team. Lot of scoring, better rebounding, more players that can get to the line.

Now dump Theis and get a veteran like Noah or Nene.

Looks like this is how we're rolling for bigs this year.

I like the signing but I see all of them as mostly centers. Is there a power forward in the bunch. I know most nights Hayward/Tatum will be the four but what if the Celtics need to go big?

I'd be happy to get a better player to replace both Theis and Yabusele.

Theis will be a PF, he's the only one who has any kind of jumper.

inb4 everyone wants to add immobile stiffs who can't shoot.

Guessing Fall will be on a two way. I'm okay with bringing back Theis as a vet 4. Just keep developing his 3 point shot.
