Tacko realism is allowed but he is still a lot more exciting than Javonte Green.

I like Tacko and would prefer him to Green any day. I also don't think he's going to be dominating the league. If he can provide 10 minutes per game of confusion/disruption defensively with an occasional dunk it's a win. Expecting 3 blocks per game just seems crazy.

Not sure what you smoking, but Tacko can easily average 3blk per game, and on offense players can lob passes for layups to him all day. That is a given.

All the other stuff like defensive switching, .. can be taught over time.

Switching can’t be taught when you are as big and slow as Tacko.

Your not very smart if you think he's slow. Everybody including Stevens, Ainge, and Scalabrini all said they were surprised how mobile Tacko was.

Did you watch the summer league?

Yeah. Did you watch the last when we couldn’t guard the 3 because Tacko can’t switch in the perimeter. In the NBA he would get killed on switches.

The Tacko Fan club (i'm president at the moment, Big is vice, lots of others on the board) would request you not call Tacko names like worst anything or say he shouldn't make the team. Thanks.

Its not about finding talented guards. Its about growth and finding a unicorns with high ceiling. Think Edwards, Tacko. Edwards elite shooter, Tacko elite physical traits and intelligence.

Danny can add 5 more guards. Half will get waived, some will never step on NBA court, some may get garbage minutes.

Tacko literally started playing basketball a few years ago. He is already the most mobile big of that size I have seen. An he can legitimately block shots, and dominate offensively. Heck he was 70% FG in summer league, and not just on dunks.

I love Tacko as a fan. Realistically, he is far from being an NBA player and it’s far from a guarantee that he can be. To call him agile and then question if someone even watched SL is .... delusional. The guy is not agile for a basketball player. Compared to Yao Ming for example, he is clumsy, robotic, slow and despite an impressive frame for his height gets pushed around more than you’d expect. Despite an impressive vertical leap at combine ( for a guy with 10 reach ), during game action he can’t even get an inch off ground. However, he did run up and down court a lot faster than we were led to believe he could. Anyway, I feel like I’m being too negative because this is an impressive person with incredible size and is totally worth taking a flyer on. I think there is a chance that unlike most 24 year olds who have plateaued athletically, he has a chance to be a late bloomer.

Truth. I can't wait to see them these two pitbulls together.

Will Smart even pass him the ball?

Hells yeah. I've always thought he's the best passer on the team.

Last year's Smart may have.

Every other year of Smart's career Edwards could get the ball by rebounding a Smart bricked 3.

Either way both players are way too good to have to breathe the same air as Javonte Green

7.6 per 25 minutes is not that bad, best rebounder of his team by far and a better per40mins than Zion Williamson or Shawn Bradley (who played in a less athletic NCAA)...

Think some here are small ballsexuals. I love fast scoring small guards but give me giants at center.

Smart is going to chuck city. I don't see him passing ball to a great shooting rookie when he can just chuck away.

Well, we clearly need a swatter inside, Williams is developing well but I think some guys, that use to attack the basket, would pee their pants with a well trained Tacko in the paint. I woul love Giannis dunking on Tacko's head or at least try...

Giannis getting knocked to the court over and over again. Well he will weaken. All giants can be run into the ground but it is so much better to beat them up first. Bruise them beat them watch them cry.

I really didn't think so at first, but Tacko showed me something in summer league....He's quick enough to play the middle and runs the floor much better than I had originally thought...The guy is as wide as he is long too...And could get even more solid underneath as he develops...For sure, if he can get in position, he would hold his own, at least, against those types of athletic players and make them all work for any easy buckets that they get.......that 7'6" frame guarding a 10' basket is quite the obstacle to have to deal with...

I find it odd that while the official Celtics site has already updated the roster page to remove PJ Dozier and RJ Hunter, they have Tremont Waters listed among the 15 players (no Tacko, Strus, or Green). If both Tremont and Strus are the current two-way players, either they both should appear on the page or neither of them.

I dunno why these little things bother me lol.

Celtics are notoriously slow with their pages and info.
