I have a feeling Kemba will play. They should rest Jaylen and Hayward for sure, IMO.

Kemba should be close, either this game or the next one. I don't want him to lose his rhythm too much either.

At least it sounds like Smart is in probably. He and Tatum should be enough but adding one more of the core would be good.

As for Gordon they don't rest him much either, so we'll see. He eventually might need it but he's been on a roll.

Yeah it is a jump for.him, and it's just me being impossible to please. I think Jaylen has been more of a top 50-60 guy this year, even if the impact stats don't show it.

As for Tatum, i agree that he will be pushing top 10 next year. I think he's already pushing top 15, but i wont argue with anyone if they say 20-25. He is an impact stats darling this year, is no lower than 11 in any of RPM/RAPM/PIPM/Raptor.

Honestly, I would argue with anyone who says he’s not top 15. He had a rough first 9 games that set the narrative and biased his stats down. Since the middle of November [41 games, 37 played], he’s averaging 23-7-3 on nearly 57% TS.

You know i certainly think so, for me the most important thing about this season was seeing if he could make the jump, dude has done it and more. I know I've pumped him up all year, possibly to ad nauseam, but it's been a long time since we've had a legitimate franchise player.

I think the days of questioning his ceiling are long gone. His last ten games, he's at 26/7/3.4 on a 61% TS, freaking 22.5 net rating, and he doesn't turn the ball over at all anymore, 1.4 a game over the last month. That's elite, top 5 player type of numbers. Obviously it's just a short sample size, but you can just see it, he's blossoming into that type of impact player.

Andre Iguodala has arrived in Miami!

Image

Clint Capela has arrived in Atlanta!

Image

Dedmon has arrived, again, in Atlanta.

Kings made the trade official, Dedmon probably can play against Boston.

Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Daniel Theis, Kemba Walker, Brad Wanamaker and Robert Williams could all miss with injury.

Sit them, let others have some fun.

Tacko!

Romeo playeo.

****. ****, ****.

Hard to say though, he looked fantastic last night. It might be a built in excuse to give him some rest and something to put on the report.

Guess we'll see.

Damn this injuries. Who will be playing tom then? A win is a win regardless who we play. A 2nd seed would be the most ideal spot. A 3rd or 4th seed, we might face the sixers or pacers in the 1st rd. I hope we don’t take this game for granted.

We're 1.5 games out of 2nd place. With 32 games left, we have a pretty good chance.
3rd & 4th Seeds gets us 1 Homecourt Advantage. 2nd Seed gets us 2 Homecourts.

He’s come a long way in a short time. Having the 3 ball start to fall reliably really opens things up for him as a player. His rebounding has gotten much better throughout the season as well. I don’t think the ceiling is super high for him due to his size limitations but the kid is going to have a long career in the NBA

His ceiling is PJ Tucker with better passing. Thats an awesome player, IMO.

I know that you guys are giving out praise for Grant, but don't sell him short. His ceiling is more that of Millsaps and Draymond! PJ tucker would be his floor!!

GW doesn't have any glaring weakness ...you can say his size, but I haven't seen anybody abuse him yet ha. He is only 40 games into his NBA career and has become a key piece on a contending team

Fair enough. If he could become Draymond Green-like, that would be fantastic.

You really ought to make this your sig at this point. :D

I tried and it wouldn't let me, I had put it in a spoiler too so i I'll work on making it smaller sometime.

It's really not my fault either that "Hello darkness my old friend" is a winner. It just wins.

SMT, I managed to get a smaller still image of the gif in my sig, after some work. The gif alone wouldn't work but this image still captures the spirit of it all, beautifully.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks for the wonderful idea! Now it's there full time without having to post it as much!!!!

**** our luck.

Just rest Hayward. He and Grant are the only Celtics who have played all the games in 2020. Rest him on frontend/backend of B2Bs the rest of the way. As long as Kemba and Smart are good to go, they could even afford to rest him against OKC and HOU. Full squad (sans Timelord) for Clips matchup at TD Garden.

Well i hope we strive to get the 2nd seed. Well not at the expense of running down our players, but we need to win games against bottom feeder teams. I’m fine with the 3rd seed, so as not to face the bucks early on.

Last 9 Games:

Celtics True Shooting %: 60.4% (1st in NBA)
Bucks True Shooting %: 60.0% (2nd in NBA, lame)

Celtics Net Rating: 13.4 (1st in NBA)
Bucks Net Rating: 10.4 (2nd in NBA, lame)

We've been injured at that.

Treat the remaining games before all star break like playoff games. Then the team will have a full week of rest. (except for Walker and Tatum) Dropping a winnable game now to rest players could mean the difference between 2nd and 3rd seed. If injured, then rest them, if not, then they need to play. Atl will beat us if we don't bring our A game. I would hate to lose 2nd seed by 1 loss, and the Raps can't seem to lose anything.

Yup. We've gone 8-1 in the last 9 games and still managed to lose ground on the Raptors, who have been phenomenal this season. If we end up having to face them, home court will be huge. We can't let up. It's going to be a dogfight for playoff seeding.

Grant looked pretty good on day one, and has improved since then. He clearly is on an upward arc, and as you say has become a key piece of the team. I fully expect to see him continue to get plenty of minutes because he earns them. Really looking forward to seeing his continued development.

Brad should just "pull a Pop" and rest pretty much everybody. Go out there with a lineup of:

Smart (got to have one vet, might as well go with the biggest dog), Waters
Langford
Semi, Green
Grant
Poirier, Tacko

Let's cut the youngsters loose and see who's gonna sink or swim.
