because of contract even more so than because of play style, wiggins vs Hayward is huge, huge upgrade for the warriors.

It would put us in deep tax for like 3 years. That's a huge save for the GSW and the cost for 2nd pick.

in most drafts 2nd pick is still worth way more. This year that's about right. I'd say GH 14/ Wiggins 2.

Wiggins is probably the tax it takes to get that pick, but if its just Hayward and picks I'm all in. Wiseman or Ball.

There's no chance Danny takes Ball. Wiseman would be the pick.

I think Wiseman would be a great pick, but at #2 you are subject to who ever chooses before you. Its one or the other

Extremely unlikely but CHA and MN are run by clowns. GS has been shopping the two for an established player and Hayward is an obscene fit for what they run.

They have the style of play he's most accustomed to and comfortable in. Added bonus is having the Warriors seriously pose a challenge against the Lakers.

Depending on if danny wants to win this year or in 3 years you still got smarts contract sitting out there.

Agree it's a possibility. As I posted at the end of the last thread, could see Smart + #14 for #2.

No way Smart lands you a top 3 pick.

There’s a better chance of humblebum suiting up for the Celtics next year than Hayward.

yeah, we saw that in the last thread.

Now we need to figure out how. I know he was offering just 2 picks to move up to 6.

Maybe 30 and 14 to get 8.

Timelord and 8 to get 5.

5, 26, and 47 for 3?

In this draft? For a team like the warriors who want established players, yes he could.

Guys, GS has no interest in Wiggins. They got him as a piece for a star, but Giannis re-signed. They’d love to add Hayward at the expense of Wiggins.

That fits in my plans. move 2 picks for 8, then 8 and assets for 5, then 5 and assets for 3.

Celtics calling Cavs for the #5 pick? Didn't Hayward want to play in Cleveland once upon a time? lol

Obviously Hayward can opt in at any time but until he does he can't be traded. I think what has happened is that Boston and Hayward have not agreed on an extension and Hayward would just assume opt in to his deal and discuss it further during FA. But he is rightly concerned that if he opted in yesterday he could be packaged off to wherever without any say in it. So Boston did him a huge favor but letting him get to Thursday with a chance of just taking his 34 mil still intact. The chance of an impulsive draft day trade comes off the table. Doesn't mean the minute Hayward opts he isn't going to be dealt or that if he opts out he can't resign just gets him to the other side and the new league year.

You can get a Marcus Smart type bench player in other ways. You don’t give up a top 3 pick for hustle defenders off the bench.
