Says Horford won't accept coming off the bench and will get "all pissy!"

Horford was worried that he was going to be dealt in the Holiday trade...

10000%, there's been some room cleared. He's going to get some well-earned burn.

I'm curious if Brad even included him in any trades at all, given how small his contract is one would assume he didn't.

Without knowing for sure, I'd guess Brad was more willing to part with draft compensation VS including Pritchard in deals. Clearly, Brad values having the best roster possible and maximizing the Tatum/Brown prime years ahead. Pritchard is a good player. I really think this is the year he turns the corner and solidifies himself as a good reserve guard in the league.

Agreed but if you listen to Al's interview today he all but said that he thought he was on the way out. Sounded like he was breathing a HUGE sigh of relief.

Payton is on a good contract and is playing for an extension. This season, if the team (talkin' to YOU Joe) creates some sets that play to his strengths, Pritchard could be a mini-microwave type, ie: put him in when there is a lull in the offense and see if he's on, then ride the hot hand. Dude is never going to be 6'5" but smaller players can change the complexion of the game. He's not afraid to get in there and pull down some rebounds too. I'd like to see him get a shot this year -- he's the third longest tenured Celtic vet, after all!

Interesting. I had heard at first that they were gonna flip brogdon. Perhaps Cronin is only saying this because he wasn't able to find a good deal, there probably wasn't much of a market for Brogdon - especially this close to the start of the season.

Portland with an interesting team now..

C Ayton
F Jerami Grant
Wing Sharpe
G Simons
G Scoot

Bench: Brogdon, Rob, Thybulle

The problem is Pritchard is at his best with the ball in his hand. Nobody wants that, and Joe shouldn't draw up plays where Pritchard initiates the offense with a dribble. He's not a guy who can cut catch and shoot. He's a ball pounder, like a really really poor person's version of Harden.

Portland won’t move Brogdon just like Brad Stevens said the Celtics are not looking to move Brogdon. Classic double speak.

Translation: Brogdon is available but we won’t move him unless we get at least a protected first round pick

But he's our ball pounding poor version of James Harden.

Maybe true, but he's been coming in early and working hard apparently, so I think it's decent risk/reward to give him a chance at least for the first half of the season. If the team needs a better third string PG, so be it, but Pritchard's above avg shooting gives a bit of confidence that he can find a solid bench role.

Hope we can add Olynyka on BO market.
It would be ideal for C rotation.

We're over the 2nd apron now so we can't sign a buyout guy.

I believe the rule applies to first apron and it’s you can’t sign someone whose salary was above the Non Taxpayer MLE (12.405M). Okynyk is right at 12.195 so I think he would be eligible.

Would be nice to have Kelly back for the playoffs, if only to show Giannis who the best player in that draft class is.
