KP came into the game with a 72% TS. It went up.

Tatum came into the game with a 67% TS. It went up.

These two dudes are off to just insane starts.

Not much to criticize tonight, except for maybe a few of Jaylen Brown's decisions. Everyone played well. But the Nets played very well. Nice to see Joe give the bench some run, but it's unfortunate Tatum and Holiday had to play 40 minutes. And, someone needs to cut Jaylen Brown's shot allocation when he's bricking. There are too many better shooters for him to go 7-22.

Hauser has yet to convince me that he is playoff suitable. And this season Pritchard has been having a lot of problems.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+30 Jayson Tatum (40 minutes)
+25.5 Kristaps Porzingis (30 minutes)
+20 Jrue Holiday (40 minutes)

+17.5 Luke Kornet (15 minutes)
+14.5 Al Horford (30 minutes)
+11 Jaylen Brown (35 minutes)

+5.5 Oshae Brisset (11 minutes)
+4.5 Sam Hauser (19 minutes)

-5 Payton Pritchard (19 minutes)

Team Total = 123.5

4 worthy in my eyes, Tatum, KP, the Jrueth, and El Clappo

I went the latter two as thought they might be overlooked

Hey, I got it right! 10th youngest. I think it goes...
1. Lebron
2. Durant
3. Kobe
4. Melo
5. McGrady
6. Giannis
7. Booker
8. Dwight
9. McAdoo
10. Tatum

The order looks a lot different if you strip out the guys who weren't forced to go to college for a season too

And unlike most of the others, JT wasn't the primary scoring option until he was maybe 21 or 22.

That's really something that Marcus Smart couldn't do.

When the Nets went on a run early in the 3rd, Jrue went blue-collar and scored inside the paint.

Kept the Celts afloat until the Nets started missing again.

Jrue is the perfect PG for this team.

If you add up Jaylen’s ECF last year, and Tatum’s finals, it’s barely higher than White’s TS so far.

JT gets it. Everything is just coming really easy for him. My boy Luke (who even I have admittedly been souring on a bit lately) stepped up with the big night. Could've gone with Jrue though with the almost trip-dub. 18/10/9 and really just controlled things whenever Brooklyn got close. Made a big shot or a big play. Al with the yeoman workmanlike effort tonight. JB was sped up all night but made the big 3 at the end. KP had 22 on a night where he probably could've had 40 had we looked his way a little more but did such a great job at both ends, especially on D late. Everytime they tried to put him on an island late in the the game he was up to the task. Great team win.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Check with the team lawyers. Saying things like this is tantamount to signing a contract to play for one franchise in your career.

Good to see signs of maturity from this Cs team.

Last season they would've been jacking up 3s to try to take back the lead.

This season the Cs have shown the ability to overcome hot shooting nights from opposing teams.

I wish JB would just play smarter. It’s hard to watch when he’s a train wreck. He’s a luxury to have when he explodes offensively like a superstar does and he’s valuable when the offense is struggling and you need a basket but games when it’s not his night, his shooting can’t affect everything about his game. He had some nice passes to Porzingis but there was a lot of bad that third quarter. Still hasn’t learned to drive and kick when 2 defenders are waiting for him or gets stubborn chucking when he’s not able to score.

White, Jrue, Tatum, Horford, and Porzingis all play a lot smarter even if some of them aren’t as talented as JB. And it does seem so far JB hasn’t really improved in any areas of his game like we are seeing from JT.

The key is to minimize the bad and maximize the good from JB.

There's nothing we can do about it.

Hopefully he'll become smarter sooner than later.

Not just Marcus but remember when everyone thought Malcolm was the missing point guard we needed lol. Malcolm could shoot for sure but Jrue is just a way better passer

After these words, hard for the Celtics organization to ever not re-sign Al while JT is here.

Also true.

It's not even close.

Jrue is an All-Star.

Malcolm is just a very good player.

The Nets played really well btw. Hit a bunch of contested jumpers, had really active hands defensively, and took care of the ball.

It was a good win, even with the Nets so short handed.

Eh... That speaks more to the dysfunction of the East than the Celtics.

It took the Zebras upping their green bias in order for the Celtics to pull away against a not that great Nets team that was down 3 starters... That's hardly fearsome

Karate Diop wrote:The Nets have had what? 2 free throw attempts in the second half?...

Hard to compete when you're undermanned and outgunned 8 vs. 5.

For the C's Tatum has definitely grown up and I like what regular season Jrue brings to them, but it's hard to understand all the hype they're getting... Their defense looks like it's going to regress big time and they're strictly a live and die by the three team now.

JT's is more impressive. 30% usage while being gameplanned against every second he's on the floor by opposing defenses. Feels like he's got the whole scoring package now. Plus the added strength.
