Seriously, I always thought the Celtics needed a Portis type player then Brad Stevens went out and got Tillman. I'm happy.

They couldn't be any more different. :P I guess you can say Tillman is the defensive counterpart of Portis, who's more of a microwave scorer. Portis gets cooked on defense.

That's what I am saying, Tillman can help keep Portis from going off. Tillman of course is no where near the offensive player that Portis is right now. I like Tillman matching up with Portis, more of a PF. Celtics don't need more offense.

Smart defenses (with capable individual defenders) stay home on the shooters for the most part. When teams double/trap Tatum, that's when we're deadlier cos the ball moves freely. Bait Cs into stagnant iso mismatch game, and they have a chance.

We did score 143 on the Heat with only 40 3PA so that strategy isn't bulletproof.

Nobody is claiming it is. Celtics are a good team no matter what the opponent throws at them, but it still seems to show that forcing the Celtics off the three point line gives you the best chance to beat them. If the Celtics are above their average number of 3’s taken per game, that means their offense is generating clean looks for the shooters, the defense is failing to rotate or Sam Hauser turns into Steph curry

Emulating Curry is a great idea for Hauser.

I just wish he wouldn't emphasize Curry's ankles.

:)

Seriously, is there anybody else in the game who changes direction at angles that great that often? No wonder Curry's ankles are vulnerable.

I was kind of surprised that the Bucks have improved defensively under Doc Rivers but not by as much as the media would have you believe.

Giannis ducking smoke. Soft soft soft. Not uncommon for him, what with that tanking to avoid the Nets and all.

yes, let's follow SAS's advice and completely change the way the team with the best offensive rating in NBA history plays. What do we have to lose? More middies!

Note: the Celtics get so many open 3s partly due to taking advantage of their size and athleticism.

This is a good opportunity for the C's not take their foot off the gas with the other team's best player out. We muffed that up vs Lakers this year and maybe a couple other times I'm forgetting, and we may have a game or two like that in the playoffs.

Not a lot of those this year -- Lakers w/o AD & Bron, Cavs w/o Mitchell and Mobley (in 4th), Hornets w/o LaMelo, Warriors w/o Draymond (JT injured ankle here).

No letdown is the preference, yes. Impose our will early. Sweep the leg. Shear the deer.

to be fair all they had to do was get back on defense and they were guaranteed to improve substantially, they were getting murdered in transition under Adrian Griffin. Like destroyed.

Article on Yahoo about the Bucks' season and struggles if anyone's interested...

And you rarely hear a title team talking like them.

"I feel like for me, this has been the hardest season that I’ve played — not only physically, because I had the procedure done on my left knee in the end of June," Giannis Antetokounmpo told The Athletic's Sam Amick. "And I had to get back to myself. ... But emotionally, and mentally, it’s been draining. I’m not going to lie to you. It’s been extremely tough, from Coach Bud being let go to Coach Griff coming in, being let go, then Coach Joe for three games, Coach Doc coming in, and then you have Dame. It’s been tough."

"It's been harder than I thought," Rivers said of the job three weeks into his tenure.

It is even more personal for Lillard, who opened up about a divorce that was filed three days after his trade to Milwaukee, telling Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill, "It’s probably been the hardest transition in my life."

Crap, I wanted a healthy Bucks...if we win it counts right? I mean Middleton is playing so...

It doesn’t matter if Giannis is in or out, it only counts when Middleton plays.

This. This is the most important thing because the Celtics need the potential win to count in the standings.

The Bucks are playing the first leg of a back to back so the polite thing to do is to blow them out so they are well rested for Brooklyn tomorrow.
