Giannis had a big game and we still came away with a dub. Teams are gonna throw their best shot against the Celtics and have been testing them early in the season so it’s nice to see us at 9-2 despite missing KP and brown for a few games.

So true.

Last season the Cs fell behind the Bucks, on the road, and the game was over by the middle of the 3rd qtr.

It was great to see the Celtics hold on, thanks to PP, in the 1st half.

White and Pritchard

Pritchard for preventing a blow out in the first half and White for being everywhere on the court in the second half.

Knew I’d come here and find not one mention of Brown shutting down Dame, completely washed that dude. I knew when I saw his shooting splits people would only think of that. Was in Dames ass the entire time and nothing from anyone about it.

I was out all day so I watched it on replay. I can see a whole lot more when I’m not also trying to comment.

Honestly Tatum and Brown don’t get enough credit for battling with the big bodies of Giannis and Brook Lopez for rebounds all day long. Even when they don’t get the rebound they are usually boxing out so someone else can get it.

Queta turning into a legitimate serviceable rotation big is a huge development - locked in the next 3 years (including this one) at very low $

Ideally need to stop digging holes early but essentially the scale for judging early game performance:
- Down 15+ points = Celtics win
- Tied / close game = Celtics 15+ point win
- Up 10+ points = Celtics blowout win and other team relocates franchise

Anyone catch Darvin Ham smiling and enjoying himself after JT went down on the close out that definitely should have been a flagrant 1? Seriously went from emotionless to looking right at JT as he rolls his ankle and starts smiling. Screw that guy!!

So true by both points. I’m so impressed with JB guarding other star players. Sure, every once in awhile he would be caught napping on team defense but his individual one on one defense is great. Seems like Tatum and brown still get underrated defensively.

Like others said, this isn't a game if Pritchard doesn't keep us close in the first half. Every time we got it to 8 or 9, I thought 5 or 6 was coming next, but it never did in the first half. Kept missing decent looks, or forcing things and Bucks we be back up 12-14. Then we'd whittle it down again.

It's a few games in a row now where we've really figured things out at halftime. Obviously great that we can do it, but not as great that we need to. For regular season, though, you're just gonna have halves like that. Great that we were able to come out with wins in 2 out of the last 3.

Went Pritchard and team. Too hard choosing between Jrue/White/Tatum for the 2nd vote.

Rest JT and his ankle for Cs next three -- ATL, @BKN, TOR? Get him back for the matchup with the Cavs.

Also, they should be able to hand post-game flagrant fouls like they do techs and flops. Doesn't really help us in the game, stupid pretend-blind refs, but Giannis at least gets assessed penalties for potential suspension down the line.

VC to PP. Kept the game within striking distance at several instances in the first half.

I'm a little amazed of the expectations some fans have for this team. It seems in their eyes, every qtr needs to be won, every half needs to be won and every game needs to be won. Nothing but perfection. Has any team won all 82 games?
The narrative of what teams have the Celtics number is hysterical. They lost both regular season games to the Nuggets last season. Did that have any impact on the season outcome? So basically they can only be validated if they beat every team and exorcise every demon? This team will lose games just like every other team in the league and they're gonna have nights where they play crappy to bad teams. Reading comments during the 1st qtr of the 11th game of the season looked like the sky was falling in November. The Bucks were 12 for 20 in the 1st qtr and they were only up by 10 points. You know who should have been worried during a regular season game in November? Bucks fans. And you know what, they probably don't care because they're happy looking up and seeing 2 banners with dates 50 years apart.

Lets see how OKC handle's losing Chet for a few months. The Celtics are doing just fine without KP and they were 3 and 1 when JB was out. Get a grip and go buy a box of snickers from Costco.

Any team can beat the Celtics 1 time, but can any team beat the Celtics 4 times in a 7 game series? At the end of the day that's what matters, not a game that they're losing by 12 at halftime in November.

Apologies to Doc, who I was so harsh against in the game thread. Not so much that their offense sucked in the 4th/clutch than the Cs just clamping down and having the guys to employ a switch-everything scheme that just stumps you and forces you to go iso. The only switch we aren't comfortable doing is PP in the post so we scram-switch him into the corner/wing. But everyone else who played in the 4th can guard 1 thru 5 considerably well (with help in the vicinity).

Bucks offensive rating in 1Q: 142.9
Bucks offensive rating in 4Q: 109.5
Bucks offensive rating in clutch: 100.0
